    Total Eclipse of the Heart singer Bonnie Tyler dies, aged 75

    Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has died, aged 75, after weeks in an induced coma following emergency intestinal surgery while in Portugal in May.

    “Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” a message on her website and Facebook page told fans.

    Tyler, whose name at birth was Gaynor Hopkins, was famous for the ’80s hits Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding out for a Hero (from the 1984 Footloose soundtrack).

    The news of her death crashed her official website with it receiving “too many requests”.

    At 39, Djokovic is 14 years Auger-Aliassime’s senior, but his hopes for a record-extending 25th grand slam trophy are alive after a pulsating 7-6 (12-10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (10-4) triumph.

    The extraordinary contest broke the record as the longest quarter-final in tournament history at five hours and 15 minutes, and finished six minutes inside the tournament’s 11pm curfew.

    Djokovic faced defeat serving at 4-4, 0-30 in the final set, but strung together the next four points to edge back in front, then played a magnificent super tie-breaker where he simply refused to miss as he finally wore Auger-Aliassime down.

    Novak Djokovic reached an eighth straight Wimbledon semi-final after grinding down Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6(10) 3-6 6-3 6-7(4) 7-6(10-4) in an epic battle on Wednesday to set up a showdown with reigning champion Jannik Sinner.

    Having surpassed Roger Federer for most match victories at the All England Club with his 106th win in the last round, the 39-year-old eclipsed the Swiss again by becoming the first man to reach the last four eight straight times.

    Djokovic got there by coming through the longest quarter-final in Wimbledon history, at five hours and 15 minutes, with a gutsy display against a determined opponent who proved hard to break down for much of the contest.

    Adelaide 36ers coach quits a month on from dramatic championship loss

    Mike Wells has quit two years after replacing former coach Scott Ninnis.

    The 36ers lost in the decisive game of the five-game NBL championship series last month.

    Mike Wells has stepped down from his role as Adelaide 36ers head coach, a month after the basketball team lost the NBL championship series to the Sydney Kings in the fifth and deciding game.

    Wells recently signed a contract extension for two more seasons, but said the decision to stand down came after a lot of reflection. 

    "I'm incredibly proud of what we've built in Adelaide over the past two seasons," he said.
