Sony a7R VI Review: The High-Resolution Camera to Rule Them All

The Sony a7R VI might very well be the last camera many photographers truly need. It won’t be the last camera people want, of course, but there is very little this camera cannot do, at least for still photography. It’s exceptional and, in many crucial ways, the new standard-bearer in the industry.

The Sony a7R VI has also been a long time coming. It may not feel like the a7R V is all that old, and having arrived in 2022, it really isn’t. However, that release ushered in some new AI-based autofocus performance and smoothed a few of its predecessor’s rougher edges, but was otherwise the same camera as 2019’s a7R IV. Since then, Sony has released some remarkable cameras, including many with image sensors that are significantly faster and more performant than the one found in the a7R IV and V.

What was promised as a dream getaway to the sun-drenched beaches of the Cape Verde archipelago has allegedly turned into a legal and medical nightmare for thousands of British holidaymakers. As of May 2026, travel giant TUI is embroiled in one of the largest coordinated legal actions of its kind, with more than 1,700 individuals now pursuing damages following severe gastric outbreaks.

The litigation, spearheaded by specialist international injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, alleges that guests at several popular resorts were exposed to life-threatening bacterial and parasitic infections. Claimants report a harrowing list of illnesses, including:

The scale of the crisis is underscored by reports from legal representatives suggesting that at least eight British tourists have died after contracting illnesses during their stay in the West African nation since January 2023. More than 2,000 people joined a personal injury claim being brought against the German company after holidaymakers fell ill in the west African island chain. Solicitors from Irwin Mitchell said they were continuously being approached by people who reported developing gastric illnesses, including E coli, salmonella and shigella, and even parasitic infections such as cryptosporidium during Tui package holidays.

More than 2,000 tourists sue over Cape Verde outbreak

More than 2,000 tourists are taking legal action after a cape verde stomach illness outbreak left eight people dead, with holidaymakers reporting infections including Shigella, Salmonella and E. coli. Jatinder Paul, the lawyer representing victims through Irwin Mitchell, said the claims could be “the tip of the iceberg.”

Paul said, “These are just the people that have contacted us.” He added, “This litigation is on an absolute huge scale,” and, “It’s not something that I’ve ever seen before.” The legal claims are mainly against TUI, which has taken over a million tourists to Cape Verde in recent years.

Victims said they were left with dirty hotels, unsafe food and problems with the islands’ water systems. Paul said, “We’ve heard over and over again meat being uncooked,” and, “We’ve seen photographs of chicken that is quite clearly raw.” He also said, “We’ve seen flies on food, considerable flies on food.”

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed at record levels on Friday after investors were given a hopeful sign that peace talks between the U.S. and Iran would soon take place in Pakistan.

The broad market index finished up 0.8% at 7,165.08, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq added 1.63% to settle at 24,836.60. Both indexes also scored fresh all-time intraday highs. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 79.61 points, or 0.16%, to end the at 49,230.71.

MS NOW reported, citing a Pakistani official, that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday evening to have a discussion with Pakistani mediators about a possible second round of negotiations with the U.S.

Kaitlin Olson knows that many “High Potential” viewers are already clamoring for her savant consultant Morgan Gillory to get together with her LAPD detective partner Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). High Court refuses to hear Bruce Lehrmann's appeal

The High Court has dismissed former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann's bid to challenge the outcome of his failed defamation case.

The Federal Court had ruled that on the balance of probabilities, Mr Lehrmann did rape Brittany Higgins at Parliament House in 2019.

The High Court was his last legal avenue to challenge the outcome.

Mr Lehrmann had sued Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson over a 2021 interview on The Project featuring Ms Higgins, in which she said she was raped in the office of then-senator Linda Reynolds, but did not name the man she was accusing.

The high court dismissed his bid to challenge the outcome in a short judgment published to its website on Thursday.

It comes after Lehrmann lost an appeal against the finding last year.

In April 2024, Justice Michael Lee found that on the balance of probabilities Lehrmann raped former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins in parliament house in 2019, and that Lehrmann was therefore not defamed when Wilkinson interviewed Higgins about the case on The Project.

A large shipment of KitKat bars was stolen while in transit to distributors, a major candy crime right before the Easter holiday that could cause shortages for customers.

The truck carrying 413,793 units of a â€œnew chocolate rangeâ€, about 12 tons of chocolate bars, was pilfered while driving through Europe on 26 March, Agence France-Presse reported.

A spokesperson for NestlÃ©, KitKatâ€™s parent company, confirmed the theft to the Guardian, adding that the company is investigating the theft with local authorities and supply chain partners.

Swiss food giant Nestlé says about 12 tons, or 413,793 candy bars, of its KitKat chocolate brand were stolen after leaving its production site in Italy earlier this week for Poland.

The company, based in Vevey, Switzerland, said in a statement Friday that “the vehicle and its load are still nowhere to be found.”

The shipment of the crunchy bars, made of waffles covered with chocolate, disappeared last week while en route between production and distribution locations. The chocolate bars were to be distributed throughout Europe.

The missing candy bars could enter unofficial sales channels across European markets, the company said, but if this does happen, all products can be traced using the unique batch code assigned to individual bars.
