Mumbai bidder snaps up Dawood Ibrahim's four ancestral Ratnagiri plots in SAFEMA auction
Mumbai: A Mumbai-based bidder won all four ancestral agricultural land parcels in Ratnagiri district linked to fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim during a Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA) auction on March 5—the first time they've all sold after years of failed attempts.
The properties in Mumbake village, Khed taluka—originally registered to Dawood's mother Amina Bi—were forfeited under the SAFEMA due to criminal ties, including the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The bidder must pay by early April 2026 for final confirmation.
The successful bids topped November 2025's failed auction (with 30% reserve price cuts): Survey No. 442 (Hissa 13-B) fetched over ₹10 lakh (reserve ₹9.41 lakh) amid two bidders; the other three—Survey Nos. 533 (reserve ₹15,440+), 453 (Hissa 13-B, reserve ₹8 lakh+), and 617 (Hissa 13-B)—went to the sole Mumbai bidder.
