Epic Games increases Fortnite V-Bucks "to help pay the bills"

Epic Games is raising the price of Fortnite's in-game currency to "help pay the bills" because "the cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot."

As detailed in a blog post, the cost increase will take effect at the start of the next battle royale season on March 19, 2026.

The biggest changes are to the four V-Bucks packs offered to players:

Players subscribed to the monthly Fortnite Crew membership will now receive 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000.

Bonus currency rewards will also be removed from Fortnite's main battle pass, while the pass itself will decrease in price from 1,000 V-Bucks to 800.

Fortnite's three other game passes (OG, Lego, and Music) will also see a 200 V-Bucks price decrease. An optional season pass will also be made available.

Epic says its Fortnite V-bucks price hike is a ‘direct correlation’ to operating costs
