Jason Taumalolo’s State of Origin status confirmed after eligibility changes

Jason Taumalolo will not be eligible to represent the Queensland Maroons in the State of Origin arena.

The veteran forward, who is approaching the end of his ten-year deal at the North Queensland Cowboys and his career, was one of a host of players who potentially became eligible for the interstate series when the Australian Rugby League Commission changed the eligibility rules earlier this year.

In that decision, the ARLC determined that players who had played for other Tier 1 countries – New Zealand or England – would be eligible to play State of Origin provided they hit the other eligibility rules, those include either being born in Australia, or having arrived in Australia prior to the player's 13th birthday.

Jason Earles says he lied about his age to get 'Hannah Montana' role

Earles, who played older brother Jackson Stewart on the Disney Channel show, revealed in a March 17 podcast episode that he had a "big secret," one he worried would cost him his job.

"I was desperately afraid that I was going to be fired and recast because I had a big secret. So, when I auditioned for the show, I lied to them and told them I was 18 years old," Earles said on the inaugural episode of "Best of Both Our Worlds: The Official, Unofficial Hannah Montana Podcast."

"It was another reason why I didn't almost audition for the show because I was like 'I'm too old.' The character's 16. Nobody's going to buy it," Earles added.

"Hannah Montana" star Jason Earles is exposing a "big secret" he had on the set of the popular Disney sitcom … he told execs he was 10 years younger than he actually was in order to nab the part!

In the inaugural episode of the "Best of Both Our Worlds" podcast, Jason cops to lying about his age in his audition and telling producers he was 18 years old … because he was really 28, but was supposed to be playing a teenager.

In fact, casting director Lisa London encouraged him to fudge the truth — except she believed he was only 19 … because the actor had "lied to her in a different audition."

A former Disney Channel actor has come clean after lying about his age to land a role opposite Miley Cyrus.

Jason Earles played Cyrus’s older brother, Jackson Stewart, on Hannah Montana, which ran on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011. The show followed teenager Miley Stewart (played by Cyrus) living a double life as both a high school student and world-famous pop star Hannah Montana.

Jason Momoa Series ‘The Red Road’ Returns to Netflix After Six Year Hiatus

The show has also hit Netflix in international regions for the first time ever.

In a welcome Boxing Day surprise, the gritty SundanceTV (now just AMC) drama The Red Road has made its return to Netflix in the US and in select international regions. As of today, December 26th, both seasons of the Jason Momoa-led thriller are once again available with all 12 episodes back.

The series previously resided on Netflix in various territories (including the US) several years ago before its licensing window expired. Its stint on Netflix US began when the show was first added in 2015 and removed in November 2019. Its return comes as part of an expanded and renewed deal with AMC, struck over the Summer, that brings many of the network’s biggest hits, both old and new, to the streamer in the US and further afield.
