Lucky for me, Netflix’s new three-part documentary Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, is about to begin streaming, and Mr. Jay is ready to reveal everything—snakes, coffins, and all.

Jay Chou to play at Australian Open, will donate million dollar prize money to charity if he wins

However, Jay Chou's Australian Open debut could be over in a matter of minutes.

It is no secret that Jay Chou is obsessed with tennis. Just check out his Instagram, where the Mandopop King regularly shares about his tennis journey.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Jan 12), Chou surprised fans when he announced that he would be “competing” at the Australian Open.

He also added that if he wins, he will donate the entire A$1 million (S$862,500) prize money to charity.

Before anyone starts picturing Chou lifting a Grand Slam trophy besides the greats, let’s clarify. He is participating in the tennis tournament's special exhibition event called 1 Point Slam, a fast-paced, winner-takes-all format where a single point decides the match.

Jay Chou draws cheers at Australian Open One Point Slam before swift first-round defeat

Taiwanese singer-songwriter and actor Jay Chou was gracious in defeat at the One Point Slam event.

Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou’s time at the Australian Open One Point Slam turned out to be one of his briefest lengths spent on any stage or arena for the well-versed performer.

Playing the one-point, winner-takes-all first round against 24-year-old Australian Petar Jovic, Chou did not manage to get a hit of the ball at the famed Rod Laver Arena when his opponent hit an ace to the singer’s right.

One point is all it takes in the One Point Slam, an exhibition tournament that has tennis amateurs and pros facing off, meaning Chou did not get to show off the fruit of his labour from practising with 20-time grand slam champion Roger Federer in Shanghai.

Motion/Spectre Powerboats Man Jay Pilini Dies

An influential figure in the high-performance marine world, Motion and Spectre catamaran-brand founder Jay Pilin has died. A longtime Southwest Florida resident, Pilini was 64 years old when he passed away on Christmas Eve.

Ryan Beckley, the owner of the Kinetic Animation graphics shop in Bradenton Fla., who got to know Pilini during the years through their shared involvement in the offshore racing and high-performance pleasure-boating worlds.

“Jay was a long-time part of the Southwest Florida powerboating scene and a good dude,” Beckley said “He founded Motion in the 1980s and Spectre in the mid-to-late 1990s, then later founded Pilini Powerboats, which also built center consoles, in the early 2000s. The 25 Motion cats he built were great in offshore racing’s S and C classes, and his 35 Motions were great in the triple-outboard Pro Stock, Modified and C and D classes, Later, his Spectre cats ran well in the S and P classes. And his 30-, 32- and 36-footers were awesome all-around pleasure boats.”
