    Ted Lasso Season 4 First Reviews: A Welcome Return with Plenty of Heart

    Three years after seeming to come to an end, Ted Lasso is back with a fourth season on Apple TV, and the first reviews are now online and fairly mixed. This time Jason Sudeikis’s title character is wooed back to England to coach a women’s team, and he’s reunited with most of the regulars from the first three seasons. While fans are sure to enjoy seeing them all again, and they’re joined by a new favorite member of the ensemble, the initial reviews of Ted Lasso Season 4 show somewhat muted excitement for the return, calling it more comforting than fresh or even necessary.

    Ted Lasso goes beyond extra time with its fourth season, and we pay the penalty

    Like football, a Ted Lasso season is a game of two halves. And as such, reviewing it at half-time is a perilous exercise. But having seen the first five episodes of season four – ostensibly the final season – that is precisely what I am going to do.

    So, here’s the caveat: struggling teams can sometimes stage remarkable comebacks after the break. And for the sake of this once-beloved show, I hope that’s what happens here.

    To milk this metaphor just a little longer, this season feels like a game stretched into extra time and inevitably on the way to the dreaded penalty shootout. It’s a long way from the beautiful game at its finest, and it’s absolutely not the way anyone wants it to end.

    The actresses channeled their on-screen duo from the hit Apple TV+ series through their shoes, with Temple displaying Keeley’s same vibrant, bubbly energy. She kept it playful like her character in a pair of silver glitter platform sandals. The crystal-encrusted shoes featured a wide strap across the top of the foot, creating a peep-toe silhouette. They featured a slip-on, backless mule design.

    Juno Temple gave a piece of early-2000s red carpet history a fresh outing at Tuesday's Ted Lasso season 4 premiere in New York, stepping out in a vintage Gucci gown by Tom Ford previously worn by Jennifer Lopez more than two decades ago.

    The archival design, from Gucci's Spring 2003 collection, features a dramatically plunging V-shaped neckline with front corsetry and a thigh-high slit, hallmarks of the sensual styling that defined Ford's tenure at the house. 

    Temple wore the gown in teal for the BAM Harvey Theater premiere, a striking departure from the chocolate brown version Lopez wore to the July 2003 premiere of her film Gigli in Westwood, California, where she paired the look with chandelier earrings and an updo befitting the era's glamour.

    Her shoes of choice while in New York promoting the hit Apple TV+ show were the Paris Texas 145mm Holly Marina suede mules in silver. The shoes are crafted from supple suede leather, finished with shimmering micro crystals. The Holly Marina sandals feature a wide strap covering the toes, creating a peep-toe design.
