George Kittle injury update: 49ers tight end carted off in playoff game vs. Eagles
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle suffered an apparent injury in the second quarter of his team's wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The injury occurred after Kittle caught a 6-yard pass from Brock Purdy on the right sideline. The veteran tight end tried to push off on his right leg as Eagles safety Marcus Epps approached to make the tackle but it gave out.
Kittle remained down after the play and grabbed his right leg. The 49ers' medical staff came onto the field to tend to him. He was loaded onto the cart due to the injury and immediately taken back to the locker room.

PHILADELPHIA − The San Francisco 49ers lost a key player on offense when tight end George Kittle was carted off the field with a lower leg injury.
Kittle had just caught a short pass to the sideline when he was tackled by Eagles safety Marcus Epps. Kittle's ankle or foot appeared to bend backwards and he went to the ground.
Kittle stayed down and was eventually carted off the field. The injury happened with 5:53 left in the second quarter, with the Eagles leading 13-7.
Kittle has long been one of the 49ers' best offensive players. He had 628 yards receiving in 11 games this season.

49ers TE George Kittle has limited practice
49ers tight end George Kittle (ankle) had a limited practice on Wednesday.
He played 40 of 42 snaps in the Week 18 loss to the Seahawks, making five catches for 29 yards, a week after missing the Week 17 game against the Bears.
The 49ers practiced without left tackle Trent Williams (hamstring) and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee/ankle). Williams has not practiced since his injury early in the Week 17 game, and Pearsall aggravated his PCL injury against the Bears.
Pearsall was limited in all three practices last week before missing the loss to the Seahawks.
Linebacker Dee Winters (ankle), defensive end Keion White (groin/hamstring) and running back Christian McCaffrey (rest) also didn’t practice.
