    Amy Shark has written songs with some of the biggest names in the biz — Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff, and each of the Blink-182 guys, to name just a few — but for her fourth studio album, she decided she’d fly totally solo.

    The singer and Australian Idol judge announced this morning that she’ll be releasing a new album, titled Soft Pop, in July — and also released its lead single, “The Biggest Dick”, that she’s been teasing on social media in the past few weeks.

    "It’s the ultimate breakup song," Shark explained. "A little bit sad, a little bit vulnerable, a little bit uplifting, but mainly.. a big F U!"

    Amy Shark is back, today dropping her much-teased cheeky new single, The Biggest Dick, and surprise announcing her new album, soft pop.

    Shark has been teasing The Biggest Dick on social media, encouraging fans to try and guess the title and sharing snippets of the track.

    Described as “the ultimate breakup song,” the confident earworm showcases the singer’s vulnerable side, as well as unveiling the empowering nature of picking yourself back up after a relationship ends.

    Amy Shark New Song and Soft Pop: Solo Writing vs Collaborative Past

    The amy shark new song “The Biggest Dick” and the full album Soft Pop arrive as one creative statement written largely alone. This piece compares Shark’s solo, apartment-led process for Soft Pop with the multi-writer, multi-studio approach she used on earlier records. The question: does stripping collaboration away produce a narrower, more focused record or simply a different sound?

    For Soft Pop, Amy Shark retreated to her apartment and wrote alone for a month, crafting a smaller pool of songs. She completed 15 tracks and ultimately took 11 to the recording studio. She imposed disciplined guidelines — no beats, no old sounds, different guitar and mic tuning — and worked with a single producer, Dann Hume, in a Wales studio. These concrete choices targeted a distinct sonic identity.

    Aussie Olympian ties the knot in fairy tale Perth wedding

    Australian Olympian Peter Bol has married Mahtut Yaynu, his long-time partner and the mother of their daughter.

    The middle-distance runner shared a series of photos from their wedding on Monday, showing the couple hand in hand, followed by a series of portraits and ending with a blurry photograph of them dancing.

    “Crossed the finish line to forever,” Mr Bol captioned the photos.

    The post was flooded with comments, including from fellow high-profile Aussie Olympians such as young sprinter Gout Gout and Olympic silver medallist Jessica Hull.

    Mr Bol rose to national prominence at the Tokyo Olympics, where he became the first Australian in more than 50 years to reach an Olympic men’s 800-metre final.

    While there was plenty of bobbing and weaving in the ring, the only knockouts were out of it as more than 1000 guests dressed in their finest for RQCC at Crown Perth.

    The red-carpet event, which saw brave contestants go head to head across 11 bouts, resulted in $1.15 million of donations and pledges for ToyBox Australia — a charity which improves the lives of Australia’s sick and disadvantaged kids.

    The fight of the night was awarded to Shauna Arthur and Fa Pichairat, while spirit of the event was claimed by Lee Nugawela.

    New Perth store gives Lululemon a run for its money

    As summer approaches and West Aussies update their activewear, many fitness-lovers will be happy to know that a popular Aussie brand is coming to WA for the first time ever.

    LSKD is opening its first WA store at Claremont Quarter on November 15, becoming the brand’s 29th store globally.

    The store will will stock a range of LSKD’s activewear and streetwear, designed to support training, sport, and everyday life. Popular items include sports leggings and shorts designed for running, HIIT, yoga and pilates.

    The Queensland-based brand grew out of the CEO Jason Daniel’s love for BMX freestyle and motocross. It was in these circles where he earned the nickname “Loose Kid” which gave inspiration to the name LSKD.
