The Easter season will come to a close in a little over a week, on Easter Sunday. But the days leading up to Easter Sunday are equally important to many Christians and Catholics. Holy Week begins this Sunday, March 29, with Palm Sunday.

Each day of Holy Week commemorates different events in the week leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, according to the Bible.

Here's the calendar for Holy Week 2026, what Palm Sunday is and what to know about other Holy Week days.

Easter Sunday will fall on April 5 in 2026. In 2025, Easter fell much later in the month, on April 20. Eastern Orthodox Easter will fall on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Palm Sunday ushers us into Holy Week. It sets the tone for the Easter triduum later in the week. The liturgy opens with movement, a procession, outside the church, the waving of blessed palms or any other greenery, and the jubilant chanting of "Hosanna." It feels festive, almost triumphant. Yet our attention is quickly drawn to the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. This year we read from Matthew's version. On Good Friday, however, we read it again but from John, as done every year.

An exciting and competitive fullback that’s been in the Bulldogs system for the last couple of years and was a part of the Club’s 2024 Jersey Flegg premiership-winning team. After featuring in the 2025 Pre-season Challenge, Cochrane went on to play both Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup last season.

A speedy outside back who joined the Club’s Jersey Flegg squad from the Roosters last year. Toy –who featured in last year’s Pre-season Challenge -began training with the NRL squad in January and has impressed quickly.

CBS has renewed its international NCIS spinoff for another season, with NCIS: Sydney officially set to return for Season 4. The Australia-based Navy procedural premiered in 2023, filling a critical void in programming amid the Hollywood actors and writers' strikes that year. The network has stuck with the International series since, despite canceling NCIS: Hawai'i in 2024.

Two Fan-Favorite CBS Shows Not Renewed

Two CBS shows face possible axing, after being excluded from the network's latest flurry of TV show renewals.

This week, CBS renewed 10 additional shows for its 2026-2027 schedule. Two of its biggest recent hits — the Young Sheldon spin-off-of-a-spin-off Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Matlock — were both given the green light for a third season.

Other shows, namely Elsbeth, NCIS: Sydney, and Tracker, are all returning for Season 4. Fire Country was renewed for Season 5, NCIS for Season 24, and its prequel, NCIS: Origins, was renewed for Season 3. The CBS reality shows The Amazing Race and Survivor received orders for seasons 38 and 51, respectively.

Queen guitarist Brian May has gifted fans a Christmas treat with the broadcast of a never-before-heard, unreleased song from the band. The song, Not For Sale (Polar Bear), actually pre-dates the 1970 formation of Queen, and was co-written by May and vocalist/bassist Tim Staffell for Smile, a power trio completed by drummer Roger Taylor. According to the Queen Vault fan website, the song was first recorded by Smile during a session at De Lane Lea studios in London in September 1969.

First played on Brian May’s radio show, Not For Sale (Polar Bear) shows a more melancholy side to Freddie Mercury

Christmas treats don’t come any bigger for Queen fans than a previously unheard track from Freddie Mercury and friends. But the beautifully understated 1973 out-take Not For Sale (Polar Bear) is less a show-stopper than a seasonal curio – a melancholic stocking filler rather than a cracker to file alongside Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga or even the cheesy Thank God It’s Christmas.

Not For Sale was debuted by Queen guitarist Brian May on a special festive broadcast on the Planet Rock radio station on Monday evening. If relatively subdued by Queen standards, the tune nonetheless has a wonderfully haunting quality – especially when a young Freddie weighs in on the chorus with a goose bump-conjuring falsetto.
