How did you start playing tennis?I grew up in Western Australia, and my mum played tennis for many years. My first memory of being on a tennis court was at the Wembley Downs Tennis Club with Mum when I was three or four years old. I accidentally got locked in the change rooms and was too small to reach the door handle to get out. Following that illustrious beginning, in the ’70s and ’80s tennis racquets were a staple on family holidays in Dunsborough, where we played on the bitumen courts between the beach house and the bakery.
