    Sacked Seibold lands NRL coaching lifeline with new club

    Anthony Seibold has put pen to paper on a deal to return to coaching in the NRL, signing on as an assistant with the PNG Chiefs.

    The former Manly coach, who was sacked early this season, was spotted travelling to Port Moresby last week to take a tour of the facilities that will now be his workplace, operating under Willie Peters.

    Seibold’s experience as a head coach in the NRL will be a significant benefit for the Chiefs, who have a host of big names already signed on to play for the team in 2027.

    Days after announcing the signing of Zac Lomax, the club have confirmed that former Manly mentor Anthony Seibold will join Willie Peters’ coaching staff.

    Seibold was sacked by the Sea Eagles earlier in the season after just three games.

    He’s since worked in a part-time capacity for AFL heavyweight Collingwood.

    Seibold has history with Peters, with the pair working together on coaching staffs at Newcastle and South Sydney.

    Sacked Manly mentor Anthony Seibold has been given an NRL coaching lifeline with the PNG Chiefs signing the former Dally M Coach of the Year to their roster. 

    Ahead of the Chiefs' inaugural season in 2028, the club announced that Seibold would become one of the assistant coaches under the guise of head coach Willie Peters. 

    It comes after the 51-year-old was dumped by the Sea Eagles after just three games into the 2026 season following a series of losses and replaced with Manly legend Kieran Foran.

    Patrick Kisnorbo has been charged with rescuing Sydney FC's faltering A-League Men season after manager Ufuk Talay agreed to a mutual termination of his contract.

    Kisnorbo will take charge of the Sky Blues until the end of the current campaign with Sydney sitting fifth with four matches of the regular season left.

    It’s been a whirlwind start to 2026 for the music world, and nowhere is that more apparent than on the Australian charts and the international awards circuit.
