Vaping is likely to cause lung and oral cancer, researchers have found, as they urged regulators to act now rather than wait decades for a definitive level of risk.

Cancer researchers led by the University of New South Wales in Sydney analysed reviews of evidence from animal studies, human case reports and laboratory research published between 2017 and 2025, in one of the most detailed assessments to date of whether nicotine e-cigarettes could cause cancer.

Vaping is likely to cause cancer, a first-of-its-kind scientific review has found, contradicting claims it is safer than smoking and highlighting the urgency of efforts to stop young people becoming addicted.

Experts have long warned the chemicals inhaled from vapes are carcinogenic and dangerous to human health, but a definitive link between vaping and cancer has not yet been established.

E-cigarette devices emerged too recently for scientists to investigate their cancer risk through decades-long epidemiological studies; the time period between exposure to a carcinogen and diagnosis with cancer can be 10 to 30 years.

Eid 2026: When Is Eid In India, March 20 Or 21? All You Need To Know About Chand Raat

Eid Kab Hai 2026: When will India celebrate Eid in 2026? Find out if Eid will fall on March 20 or 21, when Chand Raat will be, and when the Shawwal moon might be sighted.

This year, the 29th day of Ramzan falls on March 19. After sunset, people will try to spot the Shawwal moon. If they see the moon on the evening of March 19, then Eid will be on Friday, March 20, 2026. If the moon isn't visible, Ramzan will complete 30 days, and Eid will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Astronomical calculations suggest a higher chance of a moon sighting on March 19, so Eid is more likely on March 20.

Gov. Walz likely to drop out of 2026 MN governor's race: Report

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is likely to announce Monday that he will drop out of the 2026 governor's race, political insider Blois Olson reported on Sunday.

This story is no longer being updated. Gov. Walz announced on Jan. 5, 2026, that he would not be seeking reelection. Read the latest on this here.

Sunday afternoon, a spokesperson announced Governor Walz would hold a news conference at 11 a.m. to take questions and discuss "the news of the day." No other details about the press conference were shared by the governor's office.

Hours later, political insider Blois Olson reported that the governor was set to make an announcement about his political future on Monday, and he would "likely drop out of the 2026 race." Olson reports that the governor met with Senator Amy Klobuchar on Sunday to discuss the decision.

Tim Walz says he will not run for third term as Minnesota governor

Announcement comes after ongoing fraud of social services cases became focus of ire for Republicans and Trump

Tim Walz, the Democratic governor of Minnesota who ran for vice-president in 2024, announced on Monday that he is abandoning his quest for a third term in office.
The move comes after ongoing fraud of social services cases caught the attention of US Republicans, including Donald Trump, who then used the cases as a pretext to go after Somali residents.

Walz said in a statement that he wasn’t able to “give a political campaign my all”.

“Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can’t spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences,” Walz said. “So I’ve decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work.”

Tim Walz, Democrats' 2024 VP candidate, won't run for a third term as Minnesota governor

ST PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Democrats' 2024 candidate for vice president, is ending his bid for a third term as governor amid President Donald Trump’s relentless focus on a fraud investigation into child care programs in the state.

Less than four months after announcing his reelection campaign, Walz said in a statement Monday that he could no longer devote the energy necessary to win another term, even as he expressed confidence that he could win. He cited ongoing attention on the fraud cases and described an “extraordinarily difficult year for our state," while also noting the accomplishments of his first seven years in office.

Millions of disgruntled concertgoers likely to sue Ticketmaster

LOS ANGELES (CN) — Millions of people who bought concert tickets through Ticketmaster are inching closer to proceeding as a class on claims that Live Nation Entertainment and its Ticketmaster subsidiary used their monopoly power to inflate ticket prices.

U.S. District Judge George Wu took the consumer’s motion for class certification under submission at a hearing Thursday in Los Angeles federal court.

Although the judge’s tentative decision wasn’t made publicly available, the tenor of the arguments before him indicated that he was likely to grant the motion.

To be able to proceed as a class will give the plaintiffs more leverage to try to negotiate a significant settlement because Live Nation could potentially face billions of dollars in damages if the case goes before a jury. Under federal antitrust law, plaintiffs are entitled to treble their actual damages if they prevail.

Millions to Move Forward with Antitrust Lawsuit Against Ticketmaster and Live Nation

Millions of customers of Ticketmaster may soon advance with an antitrust class action lawsuit against the ticketing powerhouse and its parent company, Live Nation. Recently, U.S. District Judge George Wu concluded a hearing on the motion for class certification, taking it under advisement.

The consumer lawsuit, initiated in January 2022, seeks monetary compensation on behalf of a vast number of ticket buyers, both original and resale. The plaintiffs argue that Live Nation and Ticketmaster have established a dominant position within the ticketing market, which has led to inflated prices for consumers. The court previously acknowledged that the allegations of monopolistic practices hold merit, with the plaintiffs specifically asserting that Ticketmaster commands approximately 60% of a particular submarket within the industry.

Judge signals he’ll let Ticketmaster customers proceed as class in Live Nation antitrust lawsuit

A federal judge in California signaled he’s likely to allow millions of Ticketmaster customers to proceed as a class in an antitrust lawsuit accusing Live Nation Entertainment and its subsidiary of using monopoly power to boost ticket prices.

US District Judge George Wu took the motion for class certification under submission on Thursday (December 4) following a hearing.

Plaintiffs led by Skot Heckman, a Ticketmaster customer, sued the ticketing giant in January 2022 for allegedly engaging in secondary ticketing market manipulation, anti-competitive practices and consumer harm.

In the 2022 lawsuit, which you can read here, Live Nation and Ticketmaster were accused of secretly providing primary tickets to brokers through “ticket banks,” while publicly claiming to fight scalpers.
