Call made for stoma-friendly public toilets in Belfast

A call has been made for more stoma-friendly public toilets in Belfast.

The Alliance Party has made a proposal at City Hall to look at ways to introduce toilets that have simple and practical facilities to help people living with stoma bags.

A stoma is a surgically created opening on the abdomen that allows waste, that is stool or urine, to exit the body, bypassing the normal route. It acts as a diversion for digestive or urinary systems when the body cannot pass waste through the anus or urethra, often due to cancer, diverticulitis, or Crohn's disease.

From Stockport to Greater Manchester: How Rising Demand for Luggage Storage Is Reshaping Travel

Local news and What's On from Stockport. Your town in your pocket.

This shift reflects a broader growth in luggage storage demand, driven by more flexible travel habits and the need to make better use of time between arrivals and departures. What was once a niche convenience is becoming a more visible part of everyday travel, not only in major cities but also in smaller transport hubs such as Stockport.

In recent years, that change has begun to shape how people move through Greater Manchester. Services such as Stasher are part of this shift, linking travellers with local businesses that can securely store luggage for short periods.

Robert MacIntyre admitted he wanted to "smash up my golf clubs" after letting a big lead slip to 2026 Masters partner Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship last August. MacIntyre had four shots over the world No.1 on the final day but hit consecutive bogeys and just one birdie, which allowed Scheffler to swoop in and claim victory.

The Scotsman was unsurprisingly blunt to the media after missing out on what would have been a third PGA Tour triumph. He also showcased his clear frustrations when asked what improvements were needed.

Match Preview: CommBank Socceroos v Cameroon | FIFA Series 2026™

It is a last chance for the squad to impress Head Coach Tony Popovic as they look to bed down principles to take them into the global finals in June.

The game against Cameroon is the first in a two-game series against high quality opposition in their final games on home soil ahead of the World Cup.

Head Coach Tony Popovic initially made twelve changes to the squad that competed in the November international window. These include players returning from injury, two first-time call ups in Lucas Herrington and Ante Suto, and a potential debutant in Deni Juric.

There has also been a change in the squad, with Kye Rowles coming in to replace Fran Karacic, who has a foot problem.

The Tesla Model Y has been crowned the 21st winner of the Drive Car of the Year award, with judges praising its practical packaging, exceptional value and game-changing technology.

The win marks the first overall win for Tesla, the first Chinese-built winner and the second time a fully electric vehicle has been awarded the gong.

The Model Y took out the best electric vehicle under $60,000 category and beat other category winners such as the BMW 5-Series, BYD Atto 2 and Dolphin Essential, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Tasman, Volvo XC90 and Zeekr 7X to win overall honours.

Drive Car of the Year 2026 – all the winners

With 16 awards spanning all corners of the new car market, here are all the 2026 Drive Car of the Year category winners in one place

We are often asked why, for Drive Car of the Year, we judge and assess cars in some market segments and not others. The fact is, we’re always looking at the cars you are buying to work out where we need to focus attention, and for the 2026 field, the categories cover some 86.7 per cent of all new cars sold in 2025.

That’s over 1 million new car transactions (1,076,553 to be exact) out of 1.24 million new car sales that we consider with our award criteria.

‘Made me want to punch the air’: The Night Manager’s seductive, twisty return was a TV triumph

Without a weighty Le Carré novel behind it, there were fears the steamy, stylish spy series would feel phoned in. We needn’t have worried – it’s been a delight

This article contains spoilers for the season finale of The Night Manager

What a pleasure it is to be seduced – and The Night Manager is just about the most seductive show on television. The palatial houses and swish hotels; the expensive suits and crisp shirts (does anyone wear a button-up better than Tom Hiddleston?); all the beautiful people with their beautiful faces, elegantly stabbing one another in the back. The first season aired 10 years ago – an entirely different world – so when it was announced that a second season was coming, my first thought was: oh no, lightning doesn’t strike twice. Delightfully, I was wrong.

The Night Manager season 3 is closer than ever after Tom Hiddleston's latest update

The Night Manager season 2 just came to a shocking end. I don’t know if I’m fully recovered after watching the events of the season 2 finale's last few minutes as the bodies piled up. Now, everyone is wondering what’s next and when is The Night Manager season 3 on the way.

It was a truly devastating ending for Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddkeston), Angela Burr (Olivia Colman), and all of their colleagues and confidants.

Fortunately, we have some good news! We aren’t going to have to wait another decade for The Night Manager season 3 like we did for season 2.

Stranger Things Just Made Will Responsible for One of the Show’s Biggest Deaths

The stakes in the final season of Stranger Things have reached a fever pitch. As we navigate the emotional fallout from Season 5, Part 2, suspense has shifted from inter-dimensional monsters to the devastating weight of personal trauma and accountability. In Episodes 5 through 7, the spotlight returns to Will Byers—the once powerless young boy who is now a “wizard” in his own right. In Season 2, the reveal that the Mind Flyer was possessing Will to advance its own agenda was seen as yet another tragic circumstance of his cycle of victimhood. But now, the final season has delivered a gut-wrenching twist: Will’s role as the “spy” was far more active than anyone ever knew or feared. By diving into the hive mind’s mechanics, Season 5 implies that Will did more than unknowingly create tunnels for the Mind Flayer—he was directly responsible for Bob Newby’s (Sean Astin) death. Though the Demodogs were physically responsible for Bob’s mortal wounds, a possessed Will was the reason for everything that occurred in Season 2. This crushing revelation sets the stage for the epic series finale.

The ‘worst trade ever’ made them an NFL laughing stock. Now they could win it all

Just two years ago, the Denver Broncos were the laughing stock of the NFL.

Now, they’re one win away from securing the No.1 seed in the AFC and a real shot at Super Bowl glory.

It’s a remarkable turnaround for the organisation guilty of the worst trade in NFL history – signing veteran quarterback Russell Wilson “for a King’s ransom” in 2022.

Wilson failed to live up to his Seattle hype in his first two years in Denver, and was unceremoniously dumped in a move that saw the Broncos eat $85 million in dead cap space across 2024 and 2025.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos won their first AFC West title in a decade Saturday when the Houston Texans beat the Los Angeles Chargers 20-16.

That means the Broncos will host their first playoff game since January 2016. They can wrap up the AFC's No. 1 seed as early as Sunday, if the Patriots, Jaguars and Bills all lose or tie their Week 17 games.

The Broncos' division title ended a nine-year stretch by the Kansas City Chiefs (6-10), whose run of seven consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances ended during an injury-riddled season that included a serious knee injury to Patrick Mahomes.

Broncos clinch AFC West, Texans clinch playoff berth with Houston's win over Chargers

The Houston Texans essentially handed the Chargers two losses on Saturday.

By defeating Los Angeles, 20-16, Houston simultaneously clinched a spot in the playoffs and allowed the Denver Broncos to clinch an AFC West title, ensuring the Bolts will be a wild-card team.

Houston is no stranger to earning a postseason triumph against L.A., having beaten the Chargers last season in the AFC Wild Card Round. With another win in a playoff-like atmosphere, DeMeco Ryans and C.J. Stroud notched their third postseason berth in three seasons as a head coach-quarterback duo.

It's been Ryans' defense that's been the lynchpin for the Texans' success and in-season comeback.

Bon Iver, Gracie Abrams, and the National’s Aaron Dessner have released a new song, “Sold Out,” to benefit the gun violence prevention organization Everytown. Gracie Abrams, Bon Iver, Aaron Dessner Honor Gun Violence Victims on Charity Single 'Sold Out'

This holiday season, collaborators Gracie Abrams, Aaron Dessner, and Bon Iver are honoring victims of gun violence with the charity single “Sold Out.” The record arrives in the wake of the recent shooting at Brown University, which left two students dead and nine others injured. But the trio recorded the song last year following a different mass shooting.

“We made this song last year in the wake of a school shooting,” the musicians said in a collaborative statement. “We were reminded of it this week as our hearts were broken yet again. It’s a sad one to share during the holidays, but the world is hurting and we shouldn’t look away.”

Someone Made a Robot Act Out a Scene From ‘Love Actually’. This Is Where We Are Now.

Humanoid’s cheeky video goes over better when it doesn’t try to pose that robots are more advanced than they actually are yet.

We’ve enjoyed watching robots fail at seemingly basic tasks ever since Honda’s Asimo ate s—t walking up a staircase nearly 20 years ago. Most of these days are accidental flubs of two robots trying to box one another (why are they always boxing?).

It’s refreshing to see one poking fun at its own childlike attempts to do something simple. Here we’ve got the Humanoid HMND 01 Alpha Bipedal reenacting a classic scene from 2003’s rom-com, Love Actually.

This gift-wrapping robot is quite funny, actually

Sometimes robot videos are unintentionally funny. Other times, they try for humor and only achieve cringe. Every once in a while, though, you get a little robot comedic gem, actually.

Humanoid HMND 01 Alpha Bipedal, a robot that the company claims was built in just five months and learned to walk in only 48 hours, is back with a new holiday-themed task.

While most robot videos offer almost unbelievable feats of smarts and agility, the teams at Humanoid apparently had something else in mind for this Love, Actually-inspired clip.

Gracie Abrams & collaborators release anti-gun violence charity song

In the wake of several high-profile shootings this month, Gracie Abrams, her producer and co-writer Aaron Dessner of The National and Bon Iver have just released an anti-gun violence charity single.

It's called "Sold Out" and it's now available on Bandcamp for $5, with the money going to Everytown, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the U.S.  In a statement, the trio says, "We made this song last year in the wake of a school shooting. We were reminded of it this week as our hearts were broken yet again."  Presumably, they were referring to the shootings at Brown University, M.I.T. and at Australia's Bondi Beach.
