Ridge Barredo's description of the knee injury that ended his Commonwealth Games weightlifting campaign is enough to turn most of us off even watching the sport for good.

"I heard it pop on the third attempt, I tried to give it my all and I heard it pop [out] and pop back in," he said of his failed third snatch attempt in the men's 110kg class.

"Just to feel it was a little bit scary. Initial pain was an eight or nine out of 10."

He may have been Married At First Sight – but Australian reality TV star Ridge Barredo's third date with the Commonwealth Games has ended in calamity as he hobbled away on crutches.

Barredo, who became a celebrity when he got hitched on the hit Australian TV show three years ago, was cheered on at Glasgow's Armadillo Arena by his partner Jade Pywell and stepdaughter Victoria as he sought to win a medal after finishing eighth and fifth at the previous two Games.

Commonwealth Games 2026 LIVE: Australia get first cycling gold; Diamonds’ demolition job over Northern Ireland

It’s raining medals here at the velodrome, as Australia’s Tara Neyland smashes the world record to win gold in the women’s C4-C5 individual pursuit.

Funnily enough, the world record was set by Neyland just hours earlier during qualifying, but as she crossed the line in 4:46.614 to win gold against England’s Morgan Newberry, she had shaved three seconds off her qualifying time.

Australian Ellen Fife has kept her Commonwealth Games bowls dream alive with a critical win over Malta’s Connie-Leigh Rixon.

After the first set was drawn 5-5, Fife rallied to claim the second 6-5.

SAS Australia vs England is known for being brutal, so it’s no surprise that not every celebrity makes it to the end.

This year, 14 celebrities – seven Brits and seven Aussies – have put themselves to the test in a brutal SAS-style bootcamp in North Africa.

However, with sleepless nights, brutal physical tests and interrogations all on the cards, some celebrities quit the course.

So, who has left and who is determined to battle it out until the end?

SAS Australia returns with intense UK rivalry twist

A new season of SAS Australia is set to raise the stakes, with Australian and British celebrities thrown into a punishing desert course where endurance, discipline and mental resilience are tested to the extreme.

Fourteen high-profile recruits from sport, entertainment and social media will face a brutal selection process inspired by real SAS training, and filmed in the unforgiving conditions of North Africa.

Under the command of Chief Instructor Mark “Billy” Billingham, alongside directing staff Jason “Foxy” Fox, Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver, participants will be stripped of status and comfort as they confront intense physical and psychological challenges.

This season introduces a competitive twist, pitting Team Australia against Team United Kingdom.

The furious former Neighbours star, who played ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi for 30 years, unleashed on his fellow recruits when they were punished for not filling their water bottles.

“The biggest threat for me was not the course itself, but my fellow recruits,” Ryan, 46, tells TV WEEK. “I was constantly noticing stuff that would get us drilled.”

Car dealership run by MAFS contestant firebombed in Port Melbourne

A Melbourne car dealership managed by a former Married At First Sight star was firebombed early Wednesday morning, becoming the latest victim in near daily arson attacks in the city.

Firefighters were called to the Chery car dealership on Plummer Street, Port Melbourne, about 4.50am, and found the showroom filled with smoke. Thirty firefighters, including an aerial unit, worked to extinguish the blaze by 5.23am.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said the fire was deemed suspicious and Victoria Police’s arson squad would investigate. “Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished,” they said.

A police spokesperson said the exact circumstances had not been determined and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers. Nobody had been injured in the attack and Plummer Street was closed in both directions.

Controversial MAFS 2026 Bride Brook Crompton Reveals Why She Skipped This Year's Reunion

The Married At First Sight (MAFS) Reunion has yet to land on our screens, but the drama has already rolled around with Brook Crompton revealing why she skipped the big finale.

Every year, MAFS holds a reunion so that the experts (and the rest of Australia) can see how the participants are going post-social experiment.

The Reunion is also an opportunity for our brides and grooms to hash out some beef that happened during (or even after) the experiment, brag about their love lives or share some big announcements — think 2025’s Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice‘s recoupling.

But unfortunately, it’s not uncommon that some of the experiment’s ‘villains’ skip the big finale, robbing us of a beautiful Daddy John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla scolding.

Controversial MAFS bride Brook Crompton reveals why she isn't attending the reunion

Married At First Sight bride Brook Crompton has shared why she won't be attending the TV show's reunion.

The special edition episode will air this Sunday night, and will feature several 2026 cast members to talk about the season.

The 27-year-old Queenslander abruptly left the experiment following a dramatic dinner party where she ripped into multiple people and her behaviour was labelled "disgusting".

A poll of nearly 2,800 Yahoo Lifestyle viewers found an overwhelming 97 per cent thought she went "too far" that night.

Many have been wondering whether she would come back and face the music and now she's spoken out.

While Bec shared that "war" broke out between her and Stephanie after it was revealed that Stephanie had been sending bikini pics to Danny, one of the biggest elephants in the room was the fact that Brook had failed to make an appearance.

MAFS' Rachel Gilmore reveals moment relationship with Steven Danyluk broke down: 'Didn't love me'

Married At First Sight bride Rachel Gilmore has revealed her relationship with Steven Danyluk went south right after their "fairytale" final vows.

The finale aired on Tuesday night and the pair struggled to hold back tears as they confirmed they wanted to stay together after the experiment.

But that happy moment apparently didn't last long, and in the three weeks between the final vows being filmed and the reunion dinner party, they had broken up.

Rachel dropped this surprising news on Abbie Chatfield's It's A Lot podcast about how her relationship unravelled "nearly immediately".

"On the last commitment ceremony, I expressed my concern that Steven was going to go back to his normal life, and I would become a burden and it's going to be easier to let me go, which I very much feel like that's what's come to fruition," she said.

Married At First Sight Australia’s Bec Zaharia has spoken out about being fired from her job after her outburst at the third Dinner Party.

The fallout from the third Dinner Party proved brutal for bride Bec Zaharia, who has since opened up about 'struggling to pay rent' after losing her job following backlash on Married At First Sight Australia.

The experts and fellow MAFS contestants were all speechless during the third Dinner Party, as Bec took aim at almost everyone at the table. The catalyst was based off claims that her husband Danny Hewitt said Gia Fleur was more his type.

MAFS' Bec: 'I lost my job, I'm unemployable, I wanted to end my life''

As MAFS draws to a close for the year, I'm reminded of a familiar truth that emerges every season: there is a point where the drama stops being entertaining and starts getting uncomfortable.

As someone who has covered the show extensively, that moment hit me a few weeks ago when I saw Bec Zacharia starting to fall apart behind the scenes.

She is undoubtedly one of the most divisive figures the franchise has ever seen – a bride viewers love to hate, a lightning rod for backlash, a literal human headline.

But after sitting down with her for a no-holds-barred interview, I can tell you this much: what you're seeing on screen is only part of the story.

Bec called herself a ‘socialite’ on MAFS Australia, so here’s how posh she really is

Bec was introduced to MAFS Australia viewers as a “socialite”. What does that even mean in 2026? Does she just fill her time by watching the polo? Here’s an extensive deep dive into how posh the MAFS Australia bride Bec really is.

Her dad is Lee Zacharia, a nightclub owner. He was on Cleo magazine’s list of most eligible bachelors in 1988.

Bec had a boujie childhood. Bec went to an all girls’ private school called Wilderness School.

She told TV Week: “My father was a bit of a lothario. My grandmother was on the Merit Commission; my grandfather was the first Greek doctor in Adelaide. Since I can remember, I’ve been going to the polo, the races and these events, which got me on this list of singles. I think it’s quite embarrassing though.”
