Joining McMorris in the final, scheduled for Wednesday, will be 2018 champion Red Gerard and 2022 silver medalist Su Yiming.

Also in what's looking like a stacked 12-man field are eight-time X Games champion Marcus Kleveland, 17-year-old American Ollie Martin and top qualifier Dane Menzies of the burgeoning land of action sports, New Zealand.

LIVIGNO, Italy — Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris said he's "coming around and starting to feel like myself again" after suffering a concussion and pelvic injuries during a nasty fall in training on the big air course before the Milan Cortina Olympics started.

In an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday, McMorris said he lost consciousness when he fell eight days earlier during training for the contest that opened the action at Livigno Snow Park last week.

"We've been doing a lot of different tests and taking all the necessary steps to make sure I'm in good shape," he said. "I'm thankful to have passed all those tests and, at the end of the day, to be feeling good and feeling confident to get back out there."

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo: We're like a couple of naughty school kids

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo are no strangers to sharing the screen, having previously starred together in Marvel films such as Thor and Hulk.

Now the pair have reunited for a very different type of film.

They are starring alongside each other in Crime 101, a tense thriller that swaps superhero spectacle for a game of psychological cat and mouse.

Speaking at the premiere, Hemsworth told the BBC that their long-standing friendship brought both energy and challenges to the set.

"The two of us get together and we're like a couple of naughty kids at school that need to be wrangled to be focused," he said.

‘Crime 101’ Director Bart Layton On His Stellar LA-Set Crime Drama

Bart Layton made his feature debut in 2018 with American Animals, a great hybrid true-crime story that used doc techniques to tell the story of a supposedly victimless art heist that went terribly wrong. It had a mixed reception at the US box office, largely because American audiences felt the film didn’t offer a very flattering portrait of its country’s youth. “I’m not sure as many people saw it as I would have loved,” Layton admits. “But what was kind of surprising about that film was that I guess — certainly for actors — it was admired. And so, I guess they loved it enough to want to connect with me and work with me.”

Almost Everyone Looked Good at the “Crime 101″ UK Premiere

This movie looks terrible — Hems is a jewel thief, there are chases, Halle Berry is there, if it were 10 years ago, I’d def watch on a plane — but at least we get to see Barry Keoghan here with his Ringo Starr hair. Spoiler: IT LOOKS INSANE. I am, on a related note, bummed that the makers of this film’s trailer did not take the opportunity to point out that every single person in this movie either has an Oscar, or is an Academy Award Nominee other than Chris Hemsworth. (No offense to the Hems, who seems like a good dude.)

'A blessing' for Miami RB Mark Fletcher Jr. to play near home, helping mom's drive

The 2026 College Football Playoff national championship game will be a family affair for Miami running back Mark Fletcher Jr.

A South Florida native, Fletcher has the chance to win a national title for the team he grew up rooting for, and could cap off what has been an emotional year-plus for the Hurricanes star. His father, Mark Sr., is the reason he was a Miami fan, showing him at a young age highlights of the program's great players from their dominant runs in the 1980s-early 2000s.

Fletcher's dad died in October 2024, and his mother, Linda, has made sure to be at every game of her son's career, even if it's in an unorthodox way. But now, Fletcher can bring glory back to the program, and celebrate with his family in his own backyard.

South Florida neighborhood parks to Hard Rock Stadium, it's back to where it all started for Miami's Mark Fletcher Jr.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – They always felt like national championship games, even if some of the kids playing in those South FLA neighborhood parks had helmets that made them look like the Great Gazoo.

Yes, had to throw in a “Flintstones” reference, and for those under 40, the Great Gazoo’s helmet was twice the size of his entire body.

“I’ve seen the pictures, my pants down past my ankles and my helmet bigger than I was,” Miami star edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. joked.

On Monday, Miami and Indiana will duke it out in the real College Football Playoff national championship game, and perhaps fittingly, at Hard Rock Stadium.

Ex-Bills WR’s Son Has Huge Performance in College Football Playoff Title Game

The son of a former Buffalo Bills wide receiver had a monster performance in the College Football Playoff title game — though it wasn’t enough to push his team to a victory.

Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney was one of the best players in Monday’s title game, showing off his electric speed and the skills that made him one of college football’s top freshmen this season. The Hurricanes fell short in their attempt to knock off the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers, but Toney made a big impression in the game.

Toney’s father, Antonio Brown, was a wide receiver and return specialist for the Bills in the early 2000s. While he was not a star like the Pittsburgh Steelers receiver of the same name, Buffalo’s Antonio Brown

Stars Align for Live Reading of 'All the President's Men' Honoring Redford

Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke are set to headline a one-night live reading of the political drama 'All the President's Men' in Los Angeles, The Hollywood Reporter announced. This special event, scheduled for January 9 at the Harmony Gold Theatre, aims to raise funds for the Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre.

The night will pay tribute to Robert Redford, who played a pivotal role in the original film adaptation, receiving an Academy Award nomination. Joining Ruffalo and Hawke for this performance are a talented ensemble, including Michael John Benzaia, Don Cheadle, and others, The Hollywood Reporter detailed.

The production revives William Goldman's Oscar-winning screenplay based on Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's book. It chronicles the critical investigative work during the Nixon era that led to the Watergate scandal exposure. Though Redford passed away in September, his legacy endures as the film emphasizes the vital importance of journalistic freedom in democracy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
