Maya Jama ‘tipped to quit Love Island’ after Celebrity Traitors – I know the perfect replacement

The Celebrity Traitors season two line-up prompted a collective inhalation of breath. It is a no-skips list of names. Even TV watchers in the US were staggered at the calibre.

This might point to my TV predilections, but one of the names that stuck in my mind after a first read was that of our anointed Love Island host, Maya Jama.

Because if she’s heading into the Scottish castle, what does that mean for the Mallorca villa?

It’s reportedly something ITV has been mulling on too, with fears said to have been stoked that Jama could soon walk away from her gig in sun-soaked matchmaking paradise, according to The Sun.

Why unstoppable Maya Jama's 'huge' TV plans have Love Island bosses spooked

She sensationally split with her Premier League star boyfriend this week… and this year is set to be the Love Island host's biggest as she makes her most ambitious moves yet

EARLIER this year, Maya Jama allowed herself a brief moment of public pride.

Revealing she had bought a Cotswolds country house – in addition to her home in upmarket Hampstead, north London, and £4million Cheshire mansion – the presenter took a deep breath as she declared that, although she might sound ”like a braggy f**k”, she was very proud of herself for going from “council house queen” to multiple home owner.

Maya Jama’s future on Love Island uncertain as ITV considers replacement hosts

Maya Jama officially confirmed her return to host Love Island‘s summer 2026 series on May 23, ending weeks of speculation about whether the 31-year-old presenter would step away from the ITV dating show. Despite taking on a major new role as a contestant on BBC’s The Celebrity Traitors in May, Jama will anchor this summer’s villa action in Mallorca for the fourth consecutive season since taking over the role in January 2023.

Maya Jama took over as Love Island UK host in January 2023, succeeding Laura Whitmore after Whitmore departed citing scheduling conflicts with other projects. Jama brought established broadcasting credentials to the role, having previously hosted Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, The Wrap Up on MTV, and various entertainment programs across BBC Radio 1 and other platforms. Her appointment marked a deliberate shift in ITV’s hosting strategy—selecting someone with entertainment industry experience rather than a former islander.
