Wallet clean out! Ingleburn man takes 72 days to uncover $100,000 winning lottery ticket

A forgotten lottery ticket was tucked inside an Ingleburn man’s wallet for 72 days before he cleaned it out and made the heart-stopping discovery it was worth $100,000.

The Macarthur resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11066, drawn Monday 30 March 2026 and scored $100,000.

The winning entry wasn’t registered to The Lott Members Club, which meant lottery officials had no way to contact the ticketholder and had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.

Speaking to an official from The Lott 72 days after the draw, the joyful winner was bursting with excitement, detailing the moment he cleaned out his wallet and unearthed the winning ticket.

REVEALED: Powerball jackpots to eye-watering amount

The Powerball has jackpotted to a staggering $40 million after the coveted division one prize eluded Aussies yet again.

Thursday’s lotto draw saw the massive prize $20 million prize go unclaimed yet again after five punters matched the winning numbers but fell short of the Powerball.

It was a quiet night for West Aussies, with the State claiming just one division three prize of $15,845.60.

Sandgropers will be crossing their fingers that State’s luck turns around next week.

The result comes after the heartwarming news that a terminally ill WA man won $772,000 from the Saturday Lotto draw.

The man, aged in his 50s, and his wife reflected on the bittersweet win after claiming one of eight division one prizes.

The government has missed one idea to get housing back on track

Houses and apartments cost between $350,000 and $400,000 each to build. (ABC News: John Gunn)

If it's serious about improving intergenerational fairness and housing affordability in this week's budget, perhaps the government should just build some houses.

That's about as likely as my last bright idea of nationalising child care, but back when housing was affordable, public housing was an important part of the mix.

Whitlam tried to restart it after Menzies slashed it, but the states resisted, and since then, federal governments have exited public housing.

The Housing Australia Future Fund's support for community housing is a good policy, but it is too limited.

Anthony Albanese is continuing to stick the knife into the Liberal party after it lost its seat of Farrer to One Nation, saying he wasn’t that surprised the minor party won.

Former Liberal leader Sussan Ley resigned from parliament earlier this year after she was ousted by Angus Taylor, sparking the byelection.

Speaking to 4CA radio Cairns, Albanese says the Liberals and Nationals “don’t really stand for anything any more”.

Chalmers’ budget tax cuts on one-year delay

Australians will not receive a bonus tax cut this year to compensate for tax hikes on asset owners as the Albanese government aims to rein in ballooning debt and avoid stimulus that might fuel inflation and interest rates.

This masthead has confirmed through cabinet sources that a potential one-off tax offset for wage earners is expected to be handed to voters at tax time in 2027, rather than this financial year.

Resisting the temptation to woo voters with a tax offset during a petrol price shock, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers have made a call to stick this year with the modest “top-up” tax cuts announced in last year’s budget – worth about $5 a week to people earning more than $45,000 a year – and due to kick in from July.
