    XRP rallies 22% but still misses top analyst's price target

    XRP rallied 22% in the last 24 hours to hit $1.26 as the broader crypto market rallied following two major announcements on Aug. 19.

    Warriors star misses State of Origin selection, Kiwis centre gets maiden call-up

    Warriors front rower Jackson Ford has been overlooked for New South Wales’ State of Origin opener against Queensland next week.

    Spurs' Victor Wembanyama (ankle) misses loss to Nuggets

    The San Antonio Spurs were without star center Victor Wembanyama for Thursday night's 136-131 loss to the Denver Nuggets because of right ankle soreness.

    The Spurs announced the decision about 45 minutes before tipoff against the visiting Nuggets and Nikola Jokic in a battle of two of the Western Conference's top teams.

    Wembanyama, who had been questionable on the NBA injury report ahead of the game, tested the ankle pregame before the Spurs opted to keep him out.

    "We'll be mindful of all of it," coach Mitch Johnson said pregame. "Fortunately, I think regardless, this is something we view as very short term. It's very much how he's feeling versus risk of bigger picture."

    Victor Wembanyama Injury: Optimism to play Saturday

    Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson said that he's optimistic that Wembanyama (ankle) will play against the Hornets on Saturday, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.

    Wembanyama was unable to play against the Nuggets on Thursday due to a right ankle injury.     LOS ANGELES — Lakers star LeBron James remained out for Tuesday night's 120-106 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves because of left foot arthritis and a right hip contusion.

    James went through his pregame shooting routine at Crypto.com Arena prior to the Lakers' team walk-through and determined he needed more time to get treatment on his left foot before playing in a game, coach JJ Redick said.

    It was James' third straight missed game, the longest stretch the 23-year veteran has been out since he was sidelined the first 14 games of the season with sciatica in his lower back and down his right leg.

    Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is available to play Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls, the team announced shortly before tip-off.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin later reported that head coach JJ Redick said James "was icing his left elbow after the game and that he was experiencing enough discomfort that it caused him to be unable to finish the game."

    LeBron James returns for Lakers after missing past 3 games because of injuries

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — LeBron James returned to the lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls after missing the past three games because of a right hip contusion and arthritis in his left foot.

    James, 41, is averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and seven assists in 44 games this season, his 23rd in the NBA. He had been a game-time decision to play against the Bulls but was confirmed to be available before tip-off.

    The Lakers won all three games without James, including impressive victories over the New York Knicks on Saturday and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Los Angeles is 40-25 and came into the night fourth in the Western Conference with a chance to move ahead of the idle Houston Rockets, who have the same record.
