Chiefs signing ex-Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III, MVP of Super Bowl LX, to three-year deal

The Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III in a move to upgrade their backfield at the start of free agency, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported.

Walker's deal is for three years and is worth up to $45 million with $28.7 million fully guaranteed, per The Insiders.

The signing cannot become official until when the league year opens on Wednesday.

Bryce Cotton continues to etch his name into NBL folklore, adding yet another Most Valuable Player award to his ever-growing trophy cabinet.

This was the sixth time Cotton accepted the Andrew Gaze Trophy as the NBL's MVP, which puts him just one behind the award's namesake, who won seven over the course of his illustrious career.

Cotton won the award on the back of yet another season of substantial production, averaging 25.7 points and 7.6 assists per game — both league-leading, with the 33-year-old claiming his ninth NBL scoring title — as he guided the Adelaide 36ers to a top-two finish in his first season with the franchise.

Legend in the making claims NBL MVP by ONE vote after NBA champ cops shock snub

Bryce Cotton is NBL MVP once again, claiming the Andrew Gaze Trophy for the third consecutive season and a remarkable sixth time overall.

Cotton was the biggest story of the NBL season but for very different reasons, after leaving the Perth Wildcats for the Adelaide 36ers, then leading his new team to second place and a semi-final berth.

He pipped last season’s runner-up Kendric Davis in the tightest race in years.

Cotton won 96 votes to 94, meaning while he won by two, just one person switching from Cotton to Davis would’ve made it a tie for the third time in league history.

Kings superstar’s MVP reminder in stellar first half in 40-point Bullets rout: NBL Wrap

Sydney Kings star Kendric Davis gave MVP voters one last exhilarating performance to think about as the classy guard powered his side to a thrashing 40-point win over the Brisbane Bullets on Friday night.

Davis had an unstoppable 27 points to half time before finishing with 31 points, shooting 13/15 and having eight assists as the 26-year-old sat out the fourth quarter with the game wrapped up.

But the 117-77 victory didn’t come with ease as the bottom-placed Bullets lifted to a nine-point advantage early in their final outing of the season, held on their home court at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

"It was unacceptable": Rillie pulls no punches

No matter the short turnaround or the absence of two key players, John Rillie refused to lean on excuses after Perth’s loss to Sydney. In his eyes, the Kings simply wanted it more.

There was also the absence of Ben Henshall with an ankle issue and Dylan Windler battling a heel injury, while David Duke Jr was just in his second game back from an elbow setback. Still, Rillie refused to hide behind personnel challenges after his side led 29 to 28 at quarter-time before fading.

"Absolutely not (make excuses) because everyone's always looking for opportunity and when your opportunity comes now it's a great test," Rillie said.
