Nancy Guthrie Cops Slammed Over ‘Nancy Has Been Located’ Update

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the search for Nancy Guthrie in Arizona, and an April 16 post on X caught the public’s attention. “Update: Nancy has been located,” the department’s official account wrote.

However, the update was regarding another missing person, 82-year-old Nancy Radakovich, who had been reported missing earlier that day. Along with the text update, there was a missing person flyer with all of the information about Radakovich, but at first glance, it was certainly confusing, with many believing, for a split second, that Guthrie was the one who had been located.

There were dozens of replies to the post, with many commenters slamming the Sheriff’s Department for being misleading. “Are you kidding? So unprofessional! You couldn’t list the last name?” one person wrote. Someone else said, “Omg whyyyyyy would you word it like that smh.”

Nancy Grewal death: Mother accuses hardliners in Canada of murder; ancestral Ludhiana village residents tight-lipped

Residents of Narangwal village in Ludhiana district, the ancestral home of slain social media influencer Nancy Grewal, are somber but largely tight-lipped about her death, which is alleged to have been linked to her outspoken nature.

Leaders from various political and social organisations have condemned the assassination, arguing that governance worldwide is increasingly heading toward anarchy.

While locals could provide little information about Nancy’s parents or grandparents, they confirmed that her family was closely related to former Panch Ranjit Singh Grewal. The family later moved to nearby Jodhan village on the Pakhowal-Ludhiana road. Some family members reportedly reside in Jalandhar.

Celtic’s Nancy catastrophe is another indicator of a club embroiled in turmoil | Ewan Murray

Even the return of Martin O’Neill is unlikely to placate supporters frustrated by poor performances, a lack of investment, and chaos in the boardroom

Any club confirming the end of an error after eight games owes an apology to their supporters. In Celtic’s case, even the admission of an all-time blunder in hiring Wilfried Nancy would be unlikely to placate the masses. Remorse has not been forthcoming anyway. As Martin O’Neill’s return as manager was confirmed, office bearers took it in turn to express disappointment at the Nancy affair. Which was very good of them.

Celtic do not have a monopoly on bad decision-making. It just currently feels as if that is the case. A club who have dominated in Scotland for more than a decade, who have vast resources and more scope to plan than others of much lower stature, should never have been seeking a fourth manager in one season. That they are points firmly towards a lack of strategy and direction. It is a preposterous situation. Celtic are lucky that O’Neill, 73, retains an appetite to work. He also ticks another box, that of being idolised in the stands.

'Steady hand' O'Neill backed to revive Celtic after 'disastrous' Nancy reign

Here are some of your views on Celtic's dismissal of manager Wilfried Nancy and head of football operations Paul Tisdale, plus the return of Martin O'Neill for a second interim stint.

John: How Nancy got the job is testament to the board sitting on their hands and not spending money. Lack of buying a centre forward has brought the house crumbling down around their ears. Martin is great in short term but how about Shaun Maloney and Scott Brown long term?

Len: O'Neill did a brilliant job rescuing Celtic's season, and didn't receive the respect he deserved. He must now be properly rewarded, with a salary and status equal to former director of football Paul Tisdale. Maloney should also receive the same contractual status and remuneration as the disastrous Nancy. It's only fair. O'Neill and Maloney are two proven international-class footballers and coaches. Tisdale and Nancy were charlatans. Who appointed them? And for what purpose?

Martin O’Neill returns as Celtic manager, Wilfried Nancy sacked after 33 days in charge – The Athletic

Martin O’Neill has returned to Celtic for a second time this season after the exit of Wilfried Nancy.

Nancy was appointed on a two-and-a-half-year deal by the Scottish champions on December 3, joining from MLS side Columbus Crew, but lost six of his eight games in charge and was dismissed after just 33 days at the Glasgow club.

That means the 48-year-old has had the shortest stint of any permanent manager in the club’s history — previously the eight months of John Barnes in the 1999-00 season —and he was in charge for four days fewer than interim coach O’Neill, whom he succeeded in December.

Celtic on Monday sacked Wilfried Nancy after just eight games — and six defeats — in charge and brought back Martin O'Neill for the rest of the season.

Celtic moved quickly to take O'Neill back after his successful interim spell before Nancy's appointment.

O'Neill and Nancy both had eight games in charge and contrasting fortunes. The 73-year-old won seven matches, while Nancy lost six.

The former Republic of Ireland boss said on Celtic's website: "I am really pleased, in fact, very honoured to be asked back to manage the team again and I am looking forward to getting back to work again with the players.

Martin O’Neill has returned to lead Celtic until the end of the season on Monday after the Scottish champions sacked Wilfried Nancy following six defeats in just eight games under the French manager.

By contrast, the 73-year-old O’Neill won seven out of eight games after being brought in as caretaker boss for eight games after Brendan Rodgers’ exit in October.

Bullish Nancy does not fear sack but Celtic fans display fury after loss to Rangers

Wilfried Nancy insisted he did not fear the sack, claiming, “We are really close to things turning around,” despite the Celtic manager moving dangerously close to dismissal with a comprehensive defeat by Rangers.

Celtic led their oldest rivals at the interval but a second-half capitulation from the hosts allowed Danny Röhl’s team to move level on points with the defending Scottish Premiership champions. Nancy, who was hired from Columbus Crew in December, has presided over six defeats in eight games.

Celtic’s support displayed their anger – towards the board and manager – in their hundreds outside the stadium at full time. The board would be most likely to return to Martin O’Neill, who enjoyed a successful interim spell before Nancy was hired, if the Frenchman were sacked.

Celtic 1-3 Rangers: What the manager said

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl: "I give big respect to my team. In the first half, we tried something, but they were better. They won the 50-50 duels and they played big and fast and behind, it created us a lot of problems.

"We changed at half-time a little bit the style of pressing. We are good in the game then.

"You have two stories, we can turn things in one half to come back 3-1 and win this game and the second story, we have a centre-forward with Youssef [Chermiti] who scores fantastic goals.

"We should enjoy, but tomorrow we have to be again, ready for the next game. This is a demanding league.

Celtic v Rangers: Scottish Premiership – live

Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic nightmare continued after Rangers inflicted a sixth defeat in eight games by scoring three goals in the second half

Wilfried Nancy spent a memorable Friday press conference pleading for time, context and understanding as he visibly struggles with the role of Celtic manager. This outcome – and the nature of it – will do nothing for Nancy’s hopes of keeping his job.

And that’s it from a dramatic afternoon at Celtic Park. A classic game of two halves and another miserable afternoon for Wilfried Nancy. Can he survive this latest setback – especially given the opposition involved?
