PlayStation Network outage resolved after thousands of gamers unable to play

A PlayStation Network outage which left some gamers unable to play digital games for hours has been resolved.

According to Down Detector, which tracks outages, tens of thousands of people reported problems globally with the service on Friday.

The outage, which affected gamers' ability to launch games, apps or network features on their PlayStation, prompted some to highlight their concerns around Sony's plans to no longer release new PlayStation games on discs from January 2028.

By Friday evening, all affected services were up and running, according to Sony's status page.

"Can't play digital games till you fix it. Yet I can put my disc in and play. The all digital future looks great," read one comment on X earlier on Friday.

PS5 servers down: PlayStation users unable to access games during outage

Thousands of PlayStation users can't access online systems are services went down.

Reports of outages first emerged on the tracking website Downdetector in the early afternoon.

PlayStation, which is operated by Sony, said users are likely to experience problems trying to sign in and manage their accounts, stream games and use the online store.

The network's website said it was working to resolve issues "as soon as possible", but did not give an estimate as to when services may be up and running again, or suggest why the outage may have occurred.

On the social media platform X, players complained of not being able to log in, load games or shutdown their consoles.

A network of GP clinics across the country has been hit in a cyber attack, with sensitive medical records and personal information stolen.

Partnered Health, which operates over 50 general practice and skin cancer clinics, has identified more than a dozen locations where it fears patient information has been taken.

The company says it is working with government cyber agencies and has sought legal orders to protect the information stolen.

Patient details exposed in cyberattack on Australian healthcare provider

An Australian healthcare provider has been hit by a cyberattack that has stolen personal information from 21 clinics in its national network, including test results, consultation notes and Medicare details.

Partnered Health on Wednesday notified patients of the cyberattack more than three weeks after becoming aware that a “malicious actor” accessed its data.

Clinics in Ultimo, Castle Hill, Sans Souci and Dural are among the Sydney general practices where personal medical information has been stolen, including diagnostic and pathology results recorded at the clinics, and consultation notes and referral letters held by the practices. Personal information such as home addresses, private health insurance details and Medicare information has also been compromised.

Bupa-target Partnered Health hit by cyberattack before acquisition

Patients of medical clinics around Australia managed by the Partnered Health Group have been told their private information, including pathology results, may have been stolen, three weeks after the group suffered a cyberattack.

More than 20 of the group’s medical centres around Australia, which include the North Canberra Family Practice in the ACT and the Joondalup City Medical Group in Western Australia, could have been affected by a cyberattack by a “malicious actor” on June 23, the group said on Wednesday after revealing the attack.

Moltbook AI Social Network: 1.4 Million Agents Build A Digital Society | OpenClaw’s AI assistan…

Explore the latest developments concerning Moltbook AI Social.

OpenClaw’s AI assistants are now building their own social network

The viral personal AI assistant formerly known as Clawdbot has a new name — again. After a legal challenge from Claude’s maker, Anthropic, it had briefly rebranded as Moltbot, but has now settled on OpenClaw as its new name.

The latest name change wasn’t prompted by Anthropic, which declined to comment. But this time, Clawdbot’s original creator Peter Steinberger made sure to avoid copyright issues from the start. “I got someone to help with researching trademarks for OpenClaw and also asked OpenAI for permission just to be sure,” the Austrian developer told TechCrunch via email.

“The lobster has molted into its final form,” Steinberger wrote in a blog post. Molting — the process through which lobsters grow — had also inspired OpenClaw’s previous name, but Steinberger confessed on X that the short-lived moniker “never grew” on him, and others agreed.

Exposed Moltbook Database Let Anyone Take Control of Any AI Agent on the Site

Moltbook is a “social media” site for AI agents that’s captured the public’s imagination over the last few days. Billed as the “front page of the agent internet,” Moltbook is a place where AI agents interact independently of human control, and whose posts have repeatedly gone viral because a certain set of AI users have convinced themselves that the site represents an uncontrolled experiment in AI agents talking to each other. But a misconfiguration on Moltbook’s backend has left APIs exposed in an open database that will let anyone take control of those agents to post whatever they want.
