    Nick Candy, the honorary treasurer of Reform UK and a major donor, has sold his mansion in the Chelsea district of London for a reported £275m.

    The property developer declined to comment on the transaction, which was first reported by Bloomberg, but it is believed to be the most expensive on record in London and one of the biggest in the world.

    Providence House was the location of a fundraising event for Donald Trump in 2024, attended by the US president’s son Donald Trump Jr.

    The buyer of the Grade II-listed mansion, located in the grounds of Royal Chelsea Hospital with a lake and a swimming pool, has not been made public.

    Nick Candy has sold his family home in London’s exclusive Chelsea district to an unnamed buyer for more than £270 million ($517 million), believed to be the biggest single house sale in history.

    The British entrepreneur’s property is located on a two-acre site that once accommodated the residence of Britain’s first prime minister, Robert Walpole. It has been landscaped to emulate a grand country estate.

    Social media posts by Candy’s design company show a lake and swimming pool in the grounds, along with original Georgian details inside the property.

    Nick Reiner pleads not guilty in his parents’ killings

    Reiner, 32, charged with two counts of first-degree murder after parents were stabbed to death in December

    Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the killing of his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

    His new attorney, public defender Kimberly Greene, entered the plea during arraignment in the case on Monday morning, while Reiner was behind glass in the Los Angeles courtroom.

    Reiner was standing in an enclosed custody area and wore brown jail clothes, rather than a suicide prevention smock like he wore during an appearance in December, the Associated Press reported.

    A judge had postponed the legal proceedings last month after his last attorney withdrew from the case and was replaced by a public defender. Reiner’s former attorney, Alan Jackson, said at the time that he could not share why he was stepping down, but that his client was not guilty.

    Los Angeles: Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Hollywood luminary Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, pleaded not guilty Monday to two counts of first-degree murder more than two months after their deaths, denying for the first time that he fatally stabbed his parents.

    Reiner’s attorney, deputy public defender Kimberly Greene, entered the plea on her client’s behalf as he stood behind glass in an enclosed custody area of the packed Los Angeles courtroom.

    The third of Rob Reiner’s four children, Nick Reiner has been held without bail since his arrest hours after the beloved actor-director and his wife, a photographer and producer, were found dead on December 14 at their home in the upscale Brentwood area of Los Angeles.

    How did you start playing tennis?I grew up in Western Australia, and my mum played tennis for many years. My first memory of being on a tennis court was at the Wembley Downs Tennis Club with Mum when I was three or four years old. I accidentally got locked in the change rooms and was too small to reach the door handle to get out. Following that illustrious beginning, in the ’70s and ’80s tennis racquets were a staple on family holidays in Dunsborough, where we played on the bitumen courts between the beach house and the bakery.

    The spat between Nick Kyrgios and Jannik Sinner has escalated with the world no.2 unsure if he would rather spend time with North Korea leader Kim Jong Un or the controversial Aussie.

    Tension between the two tennis stars has been brewing in recent years with Kyrgios outspoken after Sinner received a transparent three-month ban for testing positive to clostebol in 2024 – a banned steroid.

    Sinner has largely remained silent through all criticism of his suspension, but revealed his contempt for Kyrgios during the Pod Laver Arena podcast.

    Returning to Australian stages after nine years, the band delivers a fierce, generous set that draws on four decades of music

    Dragging his hand across the piano keys, Nick Cave leaps into the air and charges towards the crowd like a preacher breaking from the pulpit. “Bring your spirit down!” he cries repeatedly, arms flung wide as the choir roars behind him.

    It’s barely 10 minutes into their set at Fremantle Park in Perth, and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have the audience in the palm of their hands. Touring their 2024 album Wild God in Australia for the first time, they open with the brooding track Frogs and the eponymous Wild God, an explosive crescendo of high-pitched strings, soaring vocals and pounding percussion.

    The fun began at Fremantle Park on Saturday, with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performing a ripping 23-song set.

    Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds began the Australian and New Zealand leg of their massive Wild God tour over the weekend, performing to devoted fans in Fremantle.

    The group’s first Australian tour since 2017 comprises outdoor, open-air shows and a handful of indoor arena concerts. The fun began at Fremantle Park on Saturday (17 January), with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performing a ripping 23-song set.

    Eight songs were performed from the tour’s namesake album, Wild God, in addition to classics from across the band’s career. There were O Children, Jubilee Street, From Her To Eternity, Red Right Hand, The Weeping Song, and Into My Arms, to name a few. Read on to discover the first setlist of the tour.

    “I look like I’m dressed as a Mormon,” Nick Cave joked to the thousands of fans gathered at Fremantle Park on Saturday night after catching a glimpse of himself on the big screens.

    Decked out in a charcoal-black suit, white shirt, and tie, Cave resembles an evangelical tent-revival preacher trying to whip his congregation into a religious fervour during the opening song Frogs from his latest album, Wild God.

    The song features an elegant arrangement and a transcendental, meditative flow that has characterised much of Cave’s work of late.

    Thanasi Kokkinakis’s tears after a doubles match told the story as the injury-plagued Australian won in his latest and most dramatic return to the sport alongside old friend Nick Kyrgios.

    The 29-year-old hadn’t played in almost a year, after groundbreaking pectoral surgery that involved attaching a donor’s achilles tendon to his shoulder.

    Despite early rust, Kokkinakis soon clicked, and he and Kyrgios were brilliant at times in a 5-7 6-4 10-8 defeat of elite doubles specialists Matt Ebden and Rajeev Ram at the Brisbane International on Sunday night.

    How the Special K's are rediscovering joy

    At times, Thanasi Kokkinakis has wondered if his career was dead and buried. Now with a deceased man's achilles tendon holding his shoulder in place, the 29-year-old is rediscovering the joy of of competition alongside old friend Nick Kyrgios.     Australian Kyrgios, 30, who had played only six ATP singles matches in the past three seasons and was given a wildcard for the event, was beaten 6-3 6-4 in just 65 minutes by Aleksandar Kovacevic.

    The defeat follows Kyrgios' victory in the 'Battle of the Sexes' exhibition match against women's world number one Aryna Sabalenka last month.

    Brisbane: Nick Kyrgios has revealed after exiting the Brisbane International that the knee and wrist surgeries which derailed his career also robbed him of the invincibility he felt during his career-best 2022 season.

    Kyrgios’ Australian Open wildcard audition will continue via doubles only after his first singles match in 10 months ended in a 6-3, 6-4 defeat in barely an hour to emerging American Aleksandar Kovacevic on Tuesday.

    The contest, in front of a crowd cheering his every move, was a reminder that Kyrgios is understandably a shadow of the player who stormed into the Wimbledon final against tennis legend Novak Djokovic four years ago.

    Former federal minister Nick Bolkus, who played “a significant part in shaping modern multicultural Australia”, has died aged 75.

    In a statement on social media on Thursday, the South Australia premier, Peter Malinauskas, announced the “long-time Labor stalwart” had “passed away peacefully this morning”.

    “Nick was deeply respected across the political divide,” said Malinauskas of Bolkus, who was elected as a senator for South Australia in 1980 and served as a minister in the Hawke and Keating governments before retiring in 2005.

    The Greek Australian, who was a minister in the Hawke and Keating governments, is being remembered for his contribution to multicultural Australia.

    Nick Bolkus, the long-time Labor senator for South Australia who was a minister in the Hawke and Keating governments, has died aged 75.

    The Labor stalwart was one of South Australia's longest-serving senators, first elected in 1980 and not retiring until 2005. He also played an influential role in shaping Australia's migration policy in the 1990s.
