Cam Smith opens up on LIV Golf future after ‘weird scenario’ with PGA Tour

It was not that long ago Cam Smith possessed two of the five most important trophies in the game.

The Aussie first recognised on tour for his wispy mullet and moustache combo emerged as a world-beater in 2022 with wins at The Players at TPC Sawgrass and The Open at St Andrews.

When he soon jumped ship for LIV Golf, Smith was ranked the second best player in the world.

Golf, of course, is a fickle pursuit. Nobody at that stage could have been absolutely sure whether Smith was on an unstoppable path towards multiple major victories. Or, indeed, if he was riding a wave with a smelting-hot putter that would have given 2015 Jordan Spieth a run for his money.

Cam Smith is uncertain if the spotlight will shift from him to young Australian Elvis Smylie at LIV Golf's Adelaide tournament.

"Maybe. Perhaps," Smith said ahead of Thursday's opening round at the Grange in Adelaide.

"I still feel like there's a lot of pressure on myself and the team to perform well this week.

"It's our biggest week of the year. To have the home crowd behind you, you don't want to let them down.

How Adelaide became a shining light for Saudi-backed golf

For one last time, Grange Golf Club's "Watering Hole" is ready for a weekend of LIV Golf shenanigans.

The tee box of the par three is now surrounded by low-rise spectator stands, including the "BYD Shark Shack" (starting from $1,000) and the "Beach Club", which offers a shaded lounge, all-inclusive bar and "all-day chef-curated dining".

It's from these hospitality tents that well-hydrated punters showered American golfer Patrick Reed with beer last year after he landed an improbable hole-in-one.

Adelaide University has officially opened following a controversial $450m merger between the universities of Adelaide and South Australia, with staff arriving back on campus this morning.

The new Adelaide University, which cost state taxpayers about $450 million, has officially opened after a series of earlier controversies, ranging from its chosen Kaurna name reportedly not making sense, a statement about working from home that led to the resignation of a Deputy Vice Chancellor and the use of land at Magill.

There were also controversial media reports over the new chief Professor Nicola Phillips‘ salary of nearly $1 million being less than her male predecessors’ pay packets.

Speaking on the latest episode of her BBC podcast Miss Me? with longtime friend and co-host Miquita Oliver, the “Smile” singer revealed she’s been in therapy for what she described as a “spending addiction”.

Allen went on to explain that she believes her urge to constantly spend stems from feelings of not deserving financial security. “I think I try and get rid of it [money] because I don’t think I deserve it,” she admitted.

Following the success of her year-topping breakup album West End Girl, Lily Allen admits that she's "convinced [she's] a billionaire," and has enrolled in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for the past four months due to an apparent shopping addiction that she says resulted in the recent purchases of a £120,000 Porsche and a £16,500 Hermes bag.

"You've got to treat yourself and mark the moment. I'm convinced I'm a billionaire. Handbags have been bought, jewels and a car has been bought," the singer-songwriter shared during a Christmas episode of her Miss Me? podcast alongside Miquita Oliver.

The installation will be located in the Design Museum's main atrium.

Retrospective of Wes Anderson at the Design Museum in London

On view through 26 July 2026 at the Design Museum in London is ‘Wes Anderrson: The Archives.’ Curated by Lucia Savi and Johana Agerman, it was put together in collaboration with the filmmaker born in Houston in 1969, who selected most of the 700 items on display from his large personal archive.

It showcases how Anderson has in the course of three decades built cinematographic worlds where every elements, however minimal, is conceived as a real object, artisanal and significant. Visitors can explore the visual and narrative evolution of one of the most unique and meticulous creators in contemporary film.

Organized chronologically, the show goes through Wes Anderson’s entire oeuvre, from his first short film, Bottle Rocket (1990s) –starring his frequent collaborator Owen Wilson and screened at the exhibition – to his most recent picture, The Phoenician Scheme (2025). The rooms lead to one another through a graduation of reddish tones that accompanies the succession of creative phases. On display are graphic screenplays, photographs, sketches, handwritten notebooks, costumes, props, models, and puppets.
