MHRA and UK Border Force crack down on the illegal medicines trade in intensive 14-day international operation.

Over two million doses of illicit medicines with an estimated value of £4.6 million have been seized in a 14-day enforcement operation carried out in the UK as part of Operation Pangea XVIII, the world’s largest coordinated initiative aimed at tackling the illegal medicines trade.

HSA takes down nearly 1,000 illegal health product listings; over 80% were for contact lenses

More than 6,600 items were also seized during a two-week operation that was part of an Interpol-led global crackdown on illegal health products.

SINGAPORE: In a two-week crackdown on illegal health products sold on local e-commerce and social media platforms, authorities took down 959 listings, more than 82 per cent of which were for unregistered contact lenses.

The listings also included prescription-only skin creams for acne and eczema, sexual enhancement medicines, nasal aspirators and nasal sprays, as well as oxygen concentrators.

The Health Sciences Authority said on Thursday (May 7) that it had issued warnings to 152 sellers.

The surge in illegal contact lens listings online comes after a fall in such listings in 2025.

Police operation currently underway in Whitlam

A 39-year-old man is in police custody following an earlier incident in Whitlam.

He has not been charged at this time and no other people are being sought by police.

Some roadblocks are still in place and police remain on scene to conduct enquires.

We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while the police operation was undertaken.

An ACT Policing operation is currently underway in Whitlam following an incident earlier this afternoon.

Residents of Whitlam are advised to remain indoors and to please follow police direction as roadblocks are in place. Anyone who is not returning to their homes is asked to avoid the area.

A man, reported to have been armed with a gun, is in police custody after tactical officers with weapons drawn monitored a residence on Shillam Chase on Christmas Eve.

Breaking: Police operation underway in Western Sydney after public place shooting

Police responded to reports of a shooting in Blacktown. (ABC News)

A large police operation is underway in Western Sydney after a man was killed when he was shot several times.

NSW Police said about 12:25pm on Friday emergency services treated one person on Carinya Street in Blacktown for gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but he could not be saved.

Police attempted to stop a Mazda ute seen leaving the scene and after a short pursuit, two people were arrested on the adjoining Kildare Road.

"There is a large emergency services presence in the area, with police establishing a perimeter," the statement said.
