Riyan Parag called correctly as the unbeaten Rajasthan Royals (RR) elected to bowl on a fresh surface in Hyderabad against a Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outfit hoping to overturn a two-match losing streak in IPL 2026.

RR made two changes, handing South Africa batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius his first opportunity of the season in place of a "rested" Shimron Hetmyer. In another like-for-like change, seamer Brijesh Sharma went out to accommodate Tushar Deshpande.

Hosts SRH also made two changes, with the experienced bowling duo of Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat making way for debutants Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge. Sakib plays for Bihar in domestic cricket, and will be up against his state mate Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while Hinge plays for Vidarbha under Harsh Dubey.

Orange Cap in IPL 2026: Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan displace Vaibhav Suryavanshi for most runs during SRH vs RR

Sunrisers Hyderabad duo of Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan displaced Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the top two spots in the updated Orange Cap list in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday against Rajasthan Royals. Klaasen, who started this game with 184 runs, added 40 runs off 26 balls to his tally to 224 runs, the highest in the tournament so far.

Klaasen's captain at Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ishan Kishan, too made a huge jump in the race for IPL 2026 Orange Cap. Coming into the game with just 122 runs in four games, Kishan smashed 91 runs off 43 balls to move to 213 runs, thus occupying the second place in the list.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl against hosts Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) under cloudy skies at Eden Gardens. The previous fixture at this venue, on April 6, was washed out after just 3.4 overs. It rained on Thursday afternoon, too, but the weather then cleared to allow the toss to take place at 7pm IST as scheduled.

Faf du Plessis, though, noted that the outfield was a bit wet in the lead-up to the match.

Welcome to the live coverage of the IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday.

Anukul begins with a couple of dot balls. Now he bowls a full toss and Badoni smacks it over long on for a six! Terrific way to get to his fifty. Important knock.

OUT! Badoni falls next ball. Wide delivery, Badoni went for the slog but doesn’t it well and is caught at long off. LSG in a great spot of bother. Six down and with no specialist batters left.

KKR brace for Shami challenge in LSG clash

Out of tune and bereft of ideas, Kolkata Knight Riders may ring in sweeping changes in search of their first win of the season when they face a Mohammed Shami-inspired Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, here on Thursday.

Shami is fresh from his outstanding 2/9 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head in successive overs — the same duo who had battered KKR the other day. The ‘local’ man Shami, a fine exponent of straight seam bowling and movement, will relish the conditions at Eden Gardens and could emerge as a key threat for a KKR who are yet to win after three matches. A glimpse of what to expect was seen on Monday when PBKS’ Australian speedster Xavier Bartlett showed how effective straight seam bowling can be on a grassy Eden pitch, blowing away KKR’s top order by dismissing overseas duo Finn Allen and Cameron Green in the space of three balls. From 16/2 in two overs, KKR were fortunate to escape with a point after their match against Punjab Kings was washed out.

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss for the third consecutive time and, like he did in the last two games, put the opposition in to bat. Shubman Gill has recovered from his neck sprain and returns to captain Gujarat Titans.

The hosts go in unchanged while Gill replaces Kumar Kushagra for GT.

Axar wanted to use the moisture that may have accumulated on the pitch as there had been rain in the lead up to the game. DC resisted the temptation there may have been to bat first as three of the four games on pitch No. 5 across IPL 2025 and 2026 were won by the team batting first.

DC vs GT Live Score, IPL 2026: Rashid Khan strikes again, Axar Patel departs

Ashok Sharma kept it tight in the 12th over, giving away just 6 runs as KL Rahul and David Miller rotated strike with singles and stayed alert.

There’s a bit of cloud cover overhead, but conditions look stable for now with no immediate threat of rain.

DC named an XI with four players making their franchise debut: Pathum Nissanka, David Miller – who played for LSG last season – and Lungi Ngidi make up three of the four overseas players, while Nitish Rana plays for his hometown franchise for the first time.

Sri Lanka won the toss at the party at Premadasa and decided to bat first. Both, the hosts and Zimbabwe, are through to the Super Eight already, but for Sri Lanka it was important to get in their injury replacements.

The big one, of course, was Matheesha Pathirana, whose tournament ended with a calf injury sustained during the match against Australia. His replacement in the squad, Dilshan Madushanka, came straight into the XI. Also given a look-in was Pramod Madushan, the fast bowler who was already in the squad. In order to organise this virtual bowl-off between Madushan and Madushanka, Sri Lanka rested their lead fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera.

Chasing 179, they finished 4-182 with three balls to spare against the co-hosts at the R. Premadasa stadium.

Suryakumar Yadav won the toss in the third T20I against New Zealand in Guwahati, and elected to bowl first with dew expected to play a role. India were looking to close out the five-match series after having won the first two games. They were gunning for an 11th series or tournament win in a row, which includes the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Asia Cup 2025.

India made two changes, giving rest to Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh. They brought in Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi, who last played for India in February 2025. It meant Axar Patel, who cut his index finger during the first T20I, continued to sit out. In the absence of a communication from the BCCI, it might be safe to assume it might be more preventive than forced.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bowl in search of a 3-0 series win against West Indies in Dubai. Having already sealed the series 2-0, Afghanistan rang in three changes. They swapped out Azmatullah Omarzai, Noor Ahmad and Fazalhaq Farooqi for allrounder Shahidullah Kamal, fast bowler Ziaur Rahman Sharfi and medium-pacer Abdollah Ahmadzai.

As for West Indies, they handed opportunities to Keacy Carty and Justin Greaves in place of Alick Athanaze and Evin Lewis, while T20I newbie Quentin Sampson kept his place in the XI. With West Indies yet to name their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, this is a chance for the fringe batters to attract the attention of the selectors and team management. On the bowling front, Shamar Springer replaced Shamar Joseph. Left-arm spinners Gudakesh Motie and Khary Pierre will take care of the spin attack.
