The great Bryce Cotton poured in 42 points to put the Adelaide 36ers within one win of their first NBL grand final since 2018 with a 104-97 victory over South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Fresh from collecting his sixth league MVP award, Cotton felt he was "in a flow state" as he hit 17-of-25 from the field – including 6-of-11 from three-point range – in front of a record Adelaide Entertainment Crowd of 10,055 on Tuesday night.

Captain Dejan Vasiljevic added 17 points off the bench as the Sixers took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three semi-final play-off series.

‘People have taken swings at us’: Coach’s defiant one-man team message after MVP’s masterclass

Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells praised star guard Bryce Cotton after his 42-point performance powered the 36ers to a 104–97 Game One semi-final win over the South East Melbourne Phoenix, but insisted the defining victory was far from a one-man show, with the entire team playing a key role in the result.

Adelaide secured their first semi-final victory since 2018 in front of 10,055 fans at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre last night. The 36ers now turn their focus to Saturday’s Game Two at John Cain Arena, where a win would send them through to the NBL Final series.

King: Phoenix did the work, couldn’t convert

Usually the team that loses Game 1 is the one searching for answers. For South East Melbourne, though, the issue wasn’t effort or execution. It was simply making shots.

The Phoenix did much of what coach Josh King demands in Tuesday night’s Playoff opener in Adelaide. They just couldn’t capitalise on their opportunities as they now return home for a do-or-die Game 2.

Before the game, King would have happily accepted the numbers his team produced. South East Melbourne attempted 13 more field goals, earned four more free throws, grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and committed just six turnovers.

Those are the types of possession stats that usually lead to wins.

The Coalition has refused to support a motion censuring One Nation leader Pauline Hanson for suggesting there are no "good" Muslims, arguing such a sanction should not be routinely used for public commentary.

Two Liberal senators crossed the floor and voted with Labor and the Greens to pass the motion, including Paul Scarr, who was recently dumped from the opposition front bench.

One Nation is planning to contest the upcoming by-election in Farrer, after a series of opinion polls put the minor party ahead of the Coalition.

Kelly Osbourne Hits Back at ‘Cruelty’ Over Her Appearance at the Brit Awards

Kelly Osbourne is standing up for herself after people criticized her appearance at the 2026 Brit Awards on Saturday night.

The reality TV star attended the ceremony, held in Manchester, England, to celebrate her father Ozzy Osbourne, who was posthumously honored with a lifetime achievement award. Her apparent weight loss caused concern online, igniting a public debate about her physical state.

“There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,” Kelly wrote on her Instagram Stories (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character.”

Kelly Osbourne slams online commenters scrutinizing her body at the Brit Awards

Kelly Osbourne is asking people to “stop kicking me while I’m down” after her appearance at the Brit Awards on Saturday garnered a slew of body shamers scrutinizing her appearance.

Osbourne, 41, was onstage alongside her mother, Sharon, to accept a lifetime achievement award for her father, the late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne died last summer of a heart attack at 76 after a legendary heavy metal career.

But audience reactions to clips of their acceptance speech focused more on Kelly Osbourne’s body than on her father’s award. On social media, many expressed shock about her thinness, with some voicing concerns about her health and others expressing suspicions about Ozempic use.

Bill Gates 'took responsibility' over Epstein ties in staff meeting, foundation says

Bill Gates "took responsibility for his actions" and addressed his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a meeting with staff from his charitable foundation, the organisation said.

"Bill spoke candidly, addressing several questions in detail," the Gates Foundation said in a statement.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Gates apologised to staff, said he had two affairs with Russian women which Epstein later found out about, and in relation to the late financier said: "I did nothing illicit. I saw nothing illicit."

Gates has come under renewed scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein following the release of files by the US Department of Justice in January.

'Maximimi' Eric Dane's Passing Leaves a Shadow… The Aftermath of 'Workplace Bullying' Revelations

Actor Eric Dane, beloved for his role as 'Mark Sloan' in the American drama 〈Grey's Anatomy〉, has passed away, and allegations of past workplace bullying surrounding him have sparked a heated debate in Hollywood and online communities.

On the 24th local time, just days after Eric Dane passed away at the young age of 53 after battling ALS, former background actor Laura Ann Tull identified him as a 'perpetrator.' Tull began her comments on a Variety tribute post shared on Threads, stating, "He was a bully and a bad person," and started to recount her experiences from 2005 to 2008 on set.

Laura Tull drops bombshell allegation days after Eric Dane's death: Here's what she said

A former background actress, Laura Tull, has sparked buzz after she dropped a bombshell allegation against late Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane days after his death.

Tull alleges that former colleague Eric Dane mistreated her on the set while calling him ‘true evil’ and puts all the blame on the late Dane for her exit from the superhit medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy.

Eric Dane died of complications from ALS on Friday, February 19, 2026, after a yearlong fight with the disease.

Laura Tull shared multiple posts on Threads, saying, :He was a bully and a hole.”

Tull’s startling allegations have been making headlines on social media.

NFL fans furious over Super Bowl commercial: ‘Should be illegal’

The Super Bowl had yet to kick off Sunday evening when some fans were already upset with one of the commercials.

Following the national anthem and before the start of the game, NBC cut to a commercial for “Scream 7″ — a horror film that is set to come out later this month.

Needless to say, people were not happy about an ad for a scary movie being shown as families tuned in for the Super Bowl.

"Showing a commercial for ‘Scream7′ at 5:30 pm right after the National Anthem and right before the Super Bowl kickoff should absolutely be illegal. So absurd,“ one fan said.

‘Scream 7’ Shouting To Mid $30Ms Opening At U.S. Box Office – Early Look

Paramount and Spyglass Media’s Scream 7 came on domestic tracking with a mid $30M opening in store when it arrives in theaters on Feb. 27. If those numbers hold, it could be the second highest opening in the 30-year-old franchise stateside after Scream VI‘s record $44.4M opening; that 2023 installment fueled by the Jenna Ortega Wednesday phenomenon.

Currently, Scream 7 is great with the 17-34 bunch and multicultural audiences across definite interest and first choice. Tickets don’t go on sale until Monday after the pic’s pre-Game Super Bowl spot. Advance ticket sales are typically a better indication of demand. Right now tracking has Scream 7 coming on higher than Scream VI, The Conjuring: Last Rites ($84M) and Final Destination: Bloodlines ($51.6M) in First Choice. There’s an argument that with lower grossing movies like Send Help and Iron Lung presently on tracking, most forecasts are inflated.

Union slams ANZ over job cuts

Finance Sector Union (FSU) condemned ANZ’s decision to axe 66 jobs across multiple Suncorp bank divisions, including business banking and home lending.

ANZ confirmed that 197 roles at Suncorp Bank will be impacted by its changes, with 66 workers expecting to lose their jobs, with the majority of these roles being based in Brisbane.

In September statement last year, ANZ said that approximately 3,500 employees would “depart” the group by September 2026.

ANZ had made a number of commitments to the Queensland and federal governments – this included no net job losses in Australia as a direct result of the acquisition for a three-year period – concluding mid-2027.

Tuna recalled over botulism risk mistakenly shipped to stores in 9 states

WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Canned tuna that was recalled last year due to a risk of botulism was accidentally shipped to retailers in nine states, prompting a new recall, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Tri-Union Seafoods issued a voluntary recall in February 2025 of select canned tuna products because of a manufacturing defect that could compromise the product’s seal, potentially leading to contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacteria that causes botulism.

The FDA published a safety alert on Monday after a third-party distributor shipped quarantined cases of the canned tuna to a limited number of retailers.

Check Your Pantry: 'Potentially Fatal' Tuna Was Accidentally Shipped To Stores In 9 States

Previously recalled cans of tuna were mistakenly distributed to various retailers across nine states.

The affected products have a lid defect that could lead to contamination with bacteria that can be fatal if consumed.

Consumers should throw away the products or return them to their place of purchase for a refund.

Check those pantries, people. That can of tuna hiding in the corner might be one you definitely don't want to open. According to the FDA, a third-party distributor inadvertently shipped quarantined tuna that was previously recalled due to a defect—one that could potentially lead to Clostridium botulinum, a bacteria that can cause botulism, a "potentially fatal form of food poisoning."

If you bought canned tuna at these stores, throw it out immediately

Canned tuna sold in nine states has been recalled over concerns of potential contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Last February, Tri-Union Seafoods voluntarily initiated a recall due to a manufacturing defect on the “easy open” pull tab on certain canned products. The distribution company said in an announcement that over time, the defect may affect the product seal, causing leaks or contamination from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum.

Clostridium botulinum is the cause of botulism, a food poisoning disease that can be life-threatening, according to the statement.

Tri-Union Seafoods later discovered possible contamination in additional canned tuna cases that had been shipped to third-party retailers.
