Belgium's state-owned railway shines light on Holocaust role
A Holocaust survivor and the son of a Nazi collaborator have shared their experiences at Brussels' Train World museum. Talking to students, they warned of the dangers of forgetting history.
In a hall at Brussels' Train World museum, two elderly men stood side by side — one a Holocaust survivor, the other the son of a Nazi collaborator.
The event earlier this week was part of an exhibition exploring the role of Belgian railways during World War II. Organized by the German Embassy in connection with the museum, it was attended by more than 180 students.
Simon Gronowski, a 94-year-old lawyer, recalled vividly what happened one morning in March 1943, in Antwerp, Belgium.
RIZIN loans ex-champion Naoki Inoue for PFL Brussels fight with Marcirley Alves
PFL’s upcoming May 23 show in Brussels, Belgium, will feature former RIZIN bantamweight champion Naoki Inoue taking on 2025 PFL tournament winner Marcirley Alves, the company announced Friday.
RIZIN confirmed to MMA Fighting that Inoue will be fighting under the PFL banner as part of a fighter-loan deal between promotions, but remains under contract with the Japan-based organization.
In a 2025 interview with MMA Fighting, Inoue said “there are a lot of tough guys in the PFL” and he would love the opportunity to test himself against them one day. On May 23, he gets that chance.
Inoue (20-5) will be competing for the first time since losing his RIZIN bantamweight title to Danny Sabatello via split decision in December, snapping a four-fight winning streak. Inoue won 10 of 13 bouts in RIZIN since a short 1-1 run in the UFC in 2017-18.

PFL/RIZIN Crossover Sees Naoki Inoue Face Marcirley Alves
Japan’s RIZIN Fighting Federation and the Professional Fighters League are picking up where RIZIN and Bellator MMA left off.
On Friday, promotion officials on both sides announced a crossover fight, one that sees former RIZIN bantamweight champ Naoki Inoue (20-5) take on PFL World Tournament winner Marcirley Alves (15-4).
The high-profile 135lb match-up takes place at PFL Brussels at the ING Arena in Brussels, Belgium on May 23, 2026. It marks the first time the promotions have collaborated, though the PFL did absorb Bellator, which hosted several crossover events with the Japanese organization.
Inoue, who has also fought in the UFC, had won four straight and defended his RIZIN bantamweight belt twice before running into Danny Sabatello in his last outing. He lost a split decision against the American, ending his title reign roughly a year and a half after it kicked off.
