    Australia's highest paid CEO makes 500 times the average salary

    Australia's highest-paid executive collected almost $48 million in the 2025 financial year, which is about 500 times the full-time average wage.

    The average ASX100 CEO earned about 55 times more than the average wage earner in FY2025.

    Five out of the top 10 highest earners listed on the ASX are from US-based companies, according to Australian Council of Superannuation Investors research.

    American entrepreneur and Life360's co-founder Chris Hulls is Australia's highest-paid executive, collecting almost $48 million in the 2025 financial year, which is almost 500 times the full-time average wage.

    US-based ASX CEOs clear $30m as pay for locals stalls

    Three US-based chief executives of Australian-listed companies are each earning more than $30 million, placing them at the top of the list of highest-paid CEOs and raising the risk that US-style pay inflation will land here, where pay for top executives has stalled for more than a decade.

    Chris Hulls, the executive chairman and co-founder of the dual ASX- and Nasdaq-listed, Silicon Valley-based family-tracking app Life 360, was the highest-paid chief executive of an ASX-listed company in the 2024-25 financial year on $47.7 million, according to a report by the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors.

    Half of the ASX’s highest-paid CEOs lead US-based companies

    Half of the 10 highest-paid chief executives on the Australian stock exchange lead companies which are based in the United States.

    New research released on Tuesday by the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) shows that while pay levels for chief executives continued to plateau last financial year, thanks to heightened scrutiny from investors and boards, bosses of companies domiciled in the US were paid the biggest salaries for the first time in the study’s history.

    Chris Hulls, chief executive of location sharing app Life360, was the highest-paid chief executive on the ASX, with a total pay packet of $47.7 million, a figure which accounts for base salary, plus bonuses and the value of share options.

    Tributes paid as grime star Dot Rotten dies, aged 37

    Tributes have been paid to grime pioneer Dot Rotten, who has died at the age of 37.

    The musician's death was confirmed to the BBC via his family. There were no details of the circumstances, although online reports suggested he had died in Gambia.

    Born Joseph Ellis in Stockwell, London, he developed a distinctive sound that mixed hard-edged beats with emotional hooks; and worked with everyone from Chip and D Double E to Cher Lloyd and Ed Sheeran.

    He scored a Top 20 hit in 2012 with the melancholy single Overload. The rapper said the song's lyrics were inspired by his experiences with "a major depression".

    British rapper and producer Dot Rotten, who flourished in the grime scene before crossing over to mainstream success, has died aged 37.

    The musician, real name Joseph Ellis-Stevenson, reportedly died in the Gambia. His family confirmed the death to the BBC.

    Born and raised in south London, Ellis-Stevenson began producing music in childhood and was still a teenager when he released his debut mixtape This Is the Beginning, in 2007. He became celebrated as one of the core beat-makers in the then flourishing grime scene, with tracks such as Petrol Bomb and Bazooka providing heavy yet spry backings for MCs. He released seven volumes of his Rotten Riddims series, plus a number of other mix tapes.

    But, for her minute-long role in 2003, she bagged the equivalent of £275,000, or £4,500 ($6,100) per second, according to Vogue.

    As reported by the publication, Andrew Holmes's book How Much?!: The $1000 Omelette… and 1100 Other Astonishing Money Moments revealed the eye-watering amount.

    In today's buying power, that is equivalent to £458,000 ($616,000) or £7,633 ($10,274) per second.

    Claudia's scene in the film comes after Daniel's son, Sam (played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster), finishes playing the drums in his school play in a bid to impress his classmate.
