South East Melbourne put on an unrelenting defensive masterclass to trounce Perth 111-94 in the NBL seeding qualifier.
But their resounding victory has come at a cost with import Ian Clark suffering a calf injury.

Clark, who scored 16 points off the bench, crash-landed as he was fouled on a drive with 7:28 remaining in the fourth quarter at John Cain Arena on Wednesday night.
On getting up, he favoured his left leg before exiting the contest 12 seconds later.

The South East Melbourne Phoenix put the torch on the Perth Wildcats ball handlers and took full advantage of the pressure applied to dominate their Seeding Qualifier to advance to the Playoffs with the 111-94 win.
All season long the Phoenix have put full court pressure on their opponents. When that's worked, they have been able to get out and run to play at the NBL's fastest pace and get up the most shots.
That came to full fruition at John Cain Arena on Wednesday night to open the NBL Finals as they took advantage of a Wildcats team without a recognised point guard which proved the ultimate difference.

South East Melbourne Phoenix will take its rightful place among the NBL final four after a commanding 111-94 win over a shell-shocked Perth Wildcats in the Seeding Qualifier at John Cain Arena in Melbourne on Wednesday night.
The Phoenix turned up the blowtorch on the defensive end to bully the Wildcats into submission.
