“This is our gift to you, Miami,” Jorge Mas said to fans as the stadium finally opened before the inaugural match against Austin FC on Saturday, April 4.
Lionel Messi is expected to play to debut the new MLS venue.
“Honestly, it’s spectacular getting to see the new home. The new stadium turned out incredible, and it’s really special to be able to experience it. We’ve been eager to play there, to make our debut, to finally be competing there officially, and now the moment has arrived,” Messi said after Friday’s practice.

Miami Police are warning drivers to plan ahead due to "major delays" around Nu Stadium before and after Inter Miami's match on Saturday.
They advised the most congested traffic times will be before the match from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and post-match from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Miami International Airport officials are also advising travelers and visitors to plan and allow extra time due to the traffic around the stadium.
