Health Minister Mark Butler has defended the prime minister's decision to break a promise and not to attend the Garma Festival this weekend.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised last year to attend every Garma Festival as prime minister.

But speaking to Channel Seven, Butler says he's gone to the festival more than any other leader of a political party.

"He's been there every year since he became leader. He's off to the Northern Territory again in coming days to visit another festival," he says.

‘She’s the future’: Hanson reveals daughter could lead One Nation

London: One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has named her daughter as a potential leader of the party during a controversial podcast with right-wing activist Tommy Robinson over the threat to Australia and Britain from mass migration.

Hanson praised her daughter, Lee, but said she would have to prove herself because there would be no nepotism in decisions on the future of the party.

The remarks, recorded last week, have been released online at a highly sensitive time for One Nation and its leadership because of tensions over Hanson’s working holiday in Europe and her decision to speak to Robinson, a divisive figure who has been convicted of assault.

A handful of oil tankers have been seen conducting ship-to-ship transfers off the coast of Oman, a sign that ships are continuing to sail through the Strait of Hormuz before offloading their cargoes onto other vessels after recent Iranian attacks on shipping.

At least four tankers were transferring cargoes near the ports of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates and Sohar in Oman, satellite images from the European Union’s Copernicus browser showed.

Those areas have been the main spots where ships shuttling in and out of Hormuz have transferred their cargoes onto vessels that would ultimately sail on to their eventual destination.

Federal politics live: Andrew Hastie rules out leaving Liberals, says he's 'here to stay'

Liberal frontbencher Andrew Hastie has ruled out leaving the Liberals, saying he will contest the next federal election.

One Nation MP David Farley has asked about a new system for veterans accessing allied health.

"The Minster quoted on Tuesday one in ten veterans may go over the five thousand dollar cap for allied health services," he says.

"If the minister knows that… why not do the right thing now and carve them out of the $5000 cap immediately?" he asks.

Veterans' Affairs Minister Matt Keogh says the current system isn't working and says a carve out would not work.

"The purpose of the cap is to replace the current existing treatment cycle system where veterans are going back time and time again after every 12 referrals to a GP in order to access allied health services," he says.

Anthony Albanese says Treasury will release a discussion paper for "further input" on the government's capital gains tax changes.

Earlier, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher revealed that an extension to the fuel excise cut was under "active consideration".

Jim Chalmers is asked if he thinks One Nation will gain even more supporters should the governent not be able to get inflation under control.

The treasurer people are obviously under pressure and they'll express that in a range of ways, "including in opinion polls".

"We understand that the pace of change is accelerating in our economy and in our society. We understand that the global uncertainty is intensifying and people have got legitimate concerns about where they fit in that story of churn and change and governments have got a choice whether to dismiss those legitimate concerns, whether to deny those legitimate concerns or try and act to address them," he says.
