Kaitlin Olson on 'High Potential' Season 2 Finale: Is Wagner Dead?

SPOILER ALERT: This interview contains major spoilers from “Family Tree,” the Season 2 finale of ABC’s “High Potential.”

Kaitlin Olson knows that many “High Potential” viewers are already clamoring for her savant consultant Morgan Gillory to get together with her LAPD detective partner Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). But after just two seasons of her acclaimed ABC procedural dramedy, which has regularly topped the charts in multi-platform ratings, Olson is more than happy to continue teasing out that potential slow-burn romance for years to come.

This season’s personal arc “was inspired by everyone really jumping on this Morgan-Karadec bandwagon and being like, ‘Will they or won’t they?’ I just thought that was so funny,” Olson, who is also an executive producer, tells Variety. “We talked about it, and I was like, ‘You can’t just jump right into that, because where do you go from there? Who knows what’s going to happen in the future?’ So then we started throwing around the idea of, ‘Well, what if they each had different romantic interests?’”

Karadec or Wagner for Morgan? 'High Potential's Kaitlin Olson Says…

High Potential may be over for the season, but the fan debate between who is the best match for Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) continues, even if the fate of one of the contenders was uncertain at the end of Season 2. Warning: Spoilers for the High Potential Season 2 finale ahead!

It’s not secret that fans have been wanting Morgan to find sparks with partner Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), but a steamy elevator kiss with Captain Wagner (Steve Howey) flipped the script as Season 2 neared its conclusion. But will it be a one-sided potential battle for Morgan’s heart? Wagner was severely stabbed and coughing up blood the last time fans saw him onscreen after a late-night park meetup when awry.

Potential Houthi threat to Red Sea shipping could further damage global economy

The Houthis held their fire for the first four weeks of the war, despite their affiliation with and backing from Iran.

Now, the movement that still holds the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and the north and other areas of the country, has made its first move, firing missiles towards Israel.

It is true that the threat the Houthis pose to Israel through its missile fire is far less than that of Iran.

The group fired towards Israel many times in support of Hamas after war erupted in Gaza, following the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023.

But those attacks – which had come to an end many months ago – did little real damage to Israel.

Why all eyes are on the ‘Strait of Tears’ as Houthis enter war

One thing that’s helped to limit the damage in oil markets since the Iran war largely shuttered the Strait of Hormuz is the availability of an alternative route for getting crude from Saudi Arabia to Asia: the Red Sea.

The Houthis, an Iran-backed militant group that controls much of Yemen, throttled much of the traffic through that crucial waterway for two years starting in late 2023. In response to Israel’s war in Gaza, they launched attacks on commercial and naval ships near the Bab el-Mandeb strait that connects the southern Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, causing what was then the biggest disruption to global trade since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Why High Potential Isn't Airing New Episodes On ABC For A While, And When It'll Return

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission.

It feels like High Potential fans were just clamoring for the show’s return due to its extended midseason break, and we’re already going back into that mindset so soon into the 2026 TV schedule. Kaitlin Olson’s brainy LAPD consultant Morgan sadly won’t be foiling any clever criminals’ plots this week, and we’ll indeed be waiting a bit longer than one might expect before we see her, Karadec and the rest of the squad back in action.

We last saw High Potential’s two leads playing up their “Will they?, Won’t they?” potential work romance, with Karadec looking very longingly at his partner, despite already having what should be a rekindled romance with Susan Kelechi Watson’s Lucia. So I can only hope that other viewers are happy to continue theorizing about where things will go next, since it’ll be a couple of ticks before we see them again.

AEW made a ‘much higher than expected’ offer to keep Powerhouse Hobbs

Powerhouse Hobbs received a big offer from AEW to remain in the company.

Dave Meltzer addressed Hobbs leaving AEW and signing with WWE in Friday’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, available now for subscribers. Meltzer wrote that AEW’s offer to Hobbs was much higher than expected and later compared it to deals signed by top stars in recent years.

“He got a great AEW offer to stay but I don’t know his WWE offer. The AEW offer was much higher than I would have expected. It would have been a number that I believe would have been higher than anyone but Chris Jericho earned in AEW’s first year in 2019.”

In potential Toronto finale, 76ers' Lowry lauded

You have reached ESPN's Australian edition. Stay on current site or go to US version.

TORONTO — It was a brief cameo at the end of a blowout win, but it meant everything to Philadelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry.

The six-time All-Star got a rousing standing ovation when he checked in for the final 1:57 of Philadelphia's 115-102 win at Toronto on Monday night.

It could be the final appearance the 39-year-old makes in the city where he spent nine seasons and won the 2019 NBA championship.

"I got an opportunity to experience probably one of the greatest basketball moments of my personal career," said Lowry, who left with the game ball after making his first appearance since Dec. 23 against Brooklyn.

76ers' Kyle Lowry: Standing ovation in Toronto

Lowry produced zero points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt) in two minutes during Monday's 115-102 victory over the Raptors.

Lowry played out the final two minutes in the blowout win, receiving a standing ovation for what is likely to be his final game in Toronto. After playing much of his career with the Raptors, Lowry now serves as a depth piece for the 76ers, spending very little time on the court. While there is obviously no fantasy impact here, the fans were certainly appreciative of everything he did during his time in Toronto.
