Popular Baby Food Sold Nationwide Recalled Because It Could Be Contaminated With “Soft Plastic”

Parents, one of your toddler's staple snack foods could be dangerous. Pumpkin Tree announced a recall of its Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit purée because of defective packaging. Last week, Pumpkin Tree's packaging supplier recalled its pouches because of an internal packaging defect that may result in a strand of soft plastic contaminating the fruit purée.

If the plastic strand were to detach from inside the pouch, it could pose a choking hazard to small children. The recall does not say whether the plastic could detach, though it does caution parents and caregivers that the fruit purée should "not be eaten or fed to another person." No injuries have been reported, Pumpkin Tree says.

Vote to ban certain products at Brooklyn food co-op stirs up claims of antisemitism

PARK SLOPE, Brooklyn (WABC) — A vote at the Park Slope Food Coop on Tuesday night intensified an already heated debate among members over whether the grocery should boycott Israeli products amid the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Gaza.

Outside the member-owned cooperative, One member shouted, "our boycott tonight is consistent with our long history of boycotts!"

Supporters of the proposed boycott said their stance goes beyond food choices. "Many of us just don't shop here again because it's a grocery store. We shop here because it's consistent with our values," one member said.

Outside the co-op, dueling signs reflected the divide. Some members argued that boycotting fewer than a dozen Israeli-made items would send a message of economic and moral pressure.

Park Slope Food Co-op Votes to Boycott Israeli Products

In a three-hour meeting, members of the grocery cooperative voted by a margin of more than 2 to 1 in favor of a boycott.

The members of the Park Slope Food Co-op voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to boycott Israeli products, approving a measure hailed by supporters as a moral stand in defense of Palestinian rights but castigated by opponents as an endorsement of an antisemitic movement to eliminate Israel.

The measure was approved by a wide margin of more than 2 to 1, reflecting the depth of dismay in one of New York’s most progressive and well-heeled neighborhoods at Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians. Sixty-seven percent of those who voted approved the boycott, and 31 percent opposed, while 2 percent abstained.

3 Cool New Mac Products Are Coming Soon, According To Leaker

Apple reportedly has a packed 2026 schedule, as over 20 products are expected to be released this year. As of now, the company has already unveiled the second-generation AirTag, but there's more on track. In Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter on Bloomberg, he reveals that three cool new Mac products could be coming very soon, including the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, the M5 MacBook Air, and a second-generation Studio Display.

Even though it's unclear whether Apple will hold an event to introduce these products or simply unveil them one by one during a special week, even more rumors point to an imminent release of these devices. Moreover, Apple is also expected to launch a new Mac Studio this year, the redesigned MacBook Pro with the M6 family, and perhaps a new generation of the Pro Display XDR. While these other Mac products are expected for the second half of 2026 at least, this is everything you need to know about the upcoming M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, the second-generation Studio Display, and the M5 MacBook Air.

The OLED MacBook Pro might actually arrive this year

Apple’s long-rumored OLED MacBook Pro is finally moving from concept to reality. Samsung Display will begin mass production of eighth-generation OLED displays for the laptop in May, according to Korean publication The Elec. The company plans to ship two million panels to Apple by the end of 2026, with Foxconn receiving displays from Q3 for final assembly.

The OLED MacBook Pro launch window points to Q4 2026, which runs from October through December. That’s earlier than some predictions suggested, with several reports warning the laptop might not arrive until 2027. Apple’s expected to offer both 14-inch and 16-inch versions with M6-series chips and the first complete redesign since 2021.
