    A US oil blockade is causing a severe energy crisis in Cuba, as the government has been forced to ration fuel and cut electricity for many hours a day, paralysing life in the communist-ruled island nation of 11 million.

    Bus stops are empty, and families are turning to wood and coal for cooking, living through near-constant power outages amid an economic crisis worsened by the Trump administration’s steps in recent weeks.

    President Miguel Diaz-Canel has imposed harsh emergency restrictions – from reduced office hours to fuel sales – in the backdrop of looming threats of regime change from the White House.

    Bob MacIntyre explains PGA Tour 'priority' after bold off-season decision

    Bob MacIntyre used his offtime to the full extent, admitting he didn’t do much while the season was on break.

    MacIntyre has had notable recent seasons, as the professional golfer has been on two winning Ryder Cup teams and earned two PGA Tour wins in 2024. He also had six top-10s on the PGA Tour in 2025 alone. As the 2026 season opens, MacIntyre sits not too far down the Sony Open leaderboard at T-20, but it's possible the outcome could have been different had he practiced during the offseason.

    “I didn’t do much over the four weeks,” MacIntyre told the Scotsman. “I played maybe once or twice on the simulator just to allow me to keep swinging a club. When I first started hitting it again, I sent a few videos to Shanksy [Simon Shanks, his coach] and, boy, was it way out (laughing).”
