    Passengers return to Perth Airport after police investigate unattended bag

    Passengers at Perth Airport Terminal 1 are allowed back into the building after the Australian Federal Police and WA Police investigated a reported unattended bag, but delays are still expected.

    The AFP had urged the public to "avoid the area and await further advice".

    However, after passengers were stuck outside for almost two hours, they were let back into the airport by 6:30pm.

    "The AFP and [WA Police] investigation at Terminal 1 International has now concluded, and the impacted areas are beginning to reopen," a statement from Perth Airport read.

    Perth Airport has reopened after parts of the main terminal were cordoned off due to the discovery of an unattended bag.

    The last time the Sussexes visited Australia in 2018, they were newly married, popular and still well within the royal fold.

    Even so, this still looks very much like a royal visit — although officially, it very much is not.

    Harry and Meghan will be travelling under their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and spending much of the week making the rounds of various charities and causes they have aligned themselves with.

    Crowd turns out to welcome duke and duchess, who are combining public visits to worthy causes with private money-making appearances

    When Prince Harry and Meghan walked through the doors of Melbourne’s Royal children’s hospital just after midday on Tuesday, a hush came over the crowd of staff and patients gathered to greet them. It was followed by a soft, collective “hiii” – as though the crowd felt that speaking too loudly might scare the duke and duchess away.

    The couple walked in almost without ceremony on this first stop on their four-day Australian tour, greeting hospital management in the foyer before making their way around the arc of people gathered to see them, paying particular attention to children.

    Harry and Meghan Australia visit LIVE updates: Crowds turn out for Harry and Meghan at children’s hospital

    Sydney-based designer Karen Gee was waiting to see whether Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, would wear her Priscilla dress for her first Australian appearance.

    It wasn’t until this masthead sent Gee a photo of Meghan greeting children at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital that the designer favoured by Australia’s corporate high-flyers could confirm the wardrobe choice.

    According to Gee, Meghan has a number of pieces from her collection, including the $1250 Priscilla in the label’s signature bonded fabric.

    For her first day of her Australian visit, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has ditched the stealth-wealth style she has perfected in California and revived her royal polish.

    It was certainly not the comeback Zion Suzuki had hoped for. The Parma goalkeeper, who had not played since 8 November (Parma 2–2 Milan) due to a hand injury, returned to the starting line-up in place of second-choice goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi for the opening match of the 29th league fixture away at Torino, 126 days later. 

    Barely three minutes into the first half, and from the very first shot they faced, Suzuki had to pick the ball out of the back of the net: Vlasic drove forward, the ball fell to Simeone, who controlled it on his right foot and fired a shot from a tight angle inside the box, almost as he slid. The ball was heading straight at the goalkeeper, but in his attempt to save it, he let it slip through his legs.

    Serie A | Torino vs Parma – Official Starting Lineups

    Torino host Parma at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino this evening, as both sides look for valuable point in their race to guarantee Serie A survival.

    Torino head into the game with one win and one defeat so far under Roberto D’Aversa, with an impressive 2-0 win over Lazio followed last weekend by a 2-1 defeat to champions Napoli.

    Kayo confirms return of alternative F1 commentary feed

    The option made its debut on the service late last year and will continue to be available in 2026 for the feature race of every grand prix.

    F1 TV coverage will not be available for practice or qualifying.

    Commentary on the F1 TV feed is led by Alex Jacques and ex-Formula 1 driver Jolyon Palmer with support from former race strategist Ruth Buscome.

    Other commentators include grand prix winner David Coulthard, GP2 Series winner Davide Valsecchi, Martin Brundle’s son Alex Bruncle, and technical analyst Sam Collins.

    Foxtel users will also have access to the F1 TV app via its set-top boxes.

    Motorsport 360 TV show to debut next week

    THE new Motorsport 360 television program will debut next week on Fox and Kayo Sports.

    It was just a fortnight ago that Supercars CEO James Warburton announced the show would come online for 43 weekly episodes a year.

    While details are still to be firmed up, including which night of the week it will air, the concept will involve one hour of analysis in the vein of the AFL 360 and NRL 360 franchises and cover Formula 1, Supercars, MotoGP, and more.

    Per communications, “Every week, a rotating panel of drivers and experts will bring fans exclusive content, sharp insights, and lively debate.”

    Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany said: “Kayo Sports is Australia’s sport leader with the best in live sport, which is well-illustrated by having Formula 1, MotoGP and Supercars all in one place.

    Takele and Kebede return to defend titles at Tokyo Marathon

    Only two men and two women in history have won the Tokyo Marathon more than once. Defending champions Sutume Asefa Kebede and Tadese Takele will attempt to join that select group when they return to the World Athletics Platinum Label road race on Sunday (1).

    Following their victories in the Japanese capital last year, they returned to Tokyo later in 2025 for the World Championships marathon, where neither produced the performances they had hoped for. Now back on familiar roads, the Ethiopian pair will aim to make amends against fields packed with major marathon winners, global medallists and a former world record-holder.

    On Friday, February 27, two days before the Tokyo Marathon 2026, the first Fan Meeting in the event's history was held at Tokyo Big Sight. In the first session, five male and five female elite invited athletes from the wheelchair marathon category were welcomed by approximately 150 marathon fans selected by lottery, engaging in a commemorative photo session and warm interactions.

    Following the greeting, two athletes from each category took part in a talk session and various interactive events.     Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was cleared to return Thursday after missing the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder's past nine games because of an abdominal strain.

    Gilgeous-Alexander, who is not on the official injury report, will be available for Friday's home game against the Denver Nuggets.

    The Thunder went 5-4 in Gilgeous-Alexander's absence after he suffered the injury during a Feb. 3 win over the Orlando Magic. Oklahoma City's lead atop the Western Conference standings has been trimmed to two games over the San Antonio Spurs, who have won 10 straight games and own the season tiebreaker between the teams.

    Thunder vs Nuggets injury report, prediction: Is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander playing tonight?

    OKC Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is available to play in a home game against the Denver Nuggets at 8:30 p.m. CST Friday.

    Gilgeous-Alexander missed the last nine games due to an abdominal strain. He'll look to help OKC (45-15) bounce back from a 124-116 road loss to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.

    Meanwhile, Denver (37-22) continues to be without Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson due to right hamstring strains. Jamal Murray is also questionable due to an illness.

    Orlando Magic forward/center Moritz Wagner is listed as available to make his season debut Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced Saturday.

    Wagner was a Sixth Man of the Year candidate last season before tearing his ACL in December. He was averaging a career-high 12.9 points per game while shooting 56.2% from the field before the injury.

    The Magic signed Wagner to a one-year, $5 million deal this summer to keep him in Orlando.

    The brother of Magic star Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner was selected with the 25th pick in the 2018 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. After three stops in his first three seasons, he was waived toward the end of the 2020-21 season and picked up by Orlando.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama returned Tuesday after sitting out the past two games because of a bone bruise in his left knee and scored a game-high 30 points off the bench in a 106-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzles.

    The performance marked Wembanyama's first career 30-point game as a reserve, according to ESPN Research.

    "The fact is we play down to the level of the opponent," Wembanyama said. "The good thing is we can match up with anybody and look everybody in the eyes. But the bad thing is we look everybody in the eyes, and sometimes we should just put people away. Most of the time, we execute well. But we don't finish plays [and] possessions. We just keep people in the games."

    Rui Hachimura expected to return from calf injury early next week

    If things go well for Rui Hachimura, he should be back in the Lakers lineup soon.

    The Lakers’ injury list has gotten longer and longer recently, with Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent and even rookie Adou Thiero ruled out for an extended period of time.

    However, LA will likely have their starting-caliber forward, Rui Hachimura, back sooner rather than later.

    Before the Lakers played their last game of 2025 against the Pistons, head coach JJ Redick stated that Hachimura could be back by early next week.

    Hachimura missed LA’s game against Detroit due to right calf soreness, and with Redick confirming he’ll miss the weekend games, the soonest he could return would be on Jan. 6, when the Lakers play the Pelicans.

    After missing two games last week due to right groin soreness, Lakers forward Rui Hachimura sat out on Tuesday vs. Detroit as a result of right calf soreness. The team is optimistic that it won’t be a long-term issue, writes Khobi Price of The Orange County Register.

    “He’ll miss a couple games,” head coach JJ Redick said. “Then we’ll get him ramped up and, hopefully, he’s playing again in the next week.”

    According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN (Twitter link), the expectation is that Hachimura will miss games on Friday and Sunday vs. Memphis. The Lakers will play a back-to-back set in New Orleans and San Antonio next Tuesday and Wednesday, so presumably the hope is that Hachimura will return for one or both of those games.

    Rui Hachimura (calf) to miss 'about' one week
