Sonnen: ‘Lying’ Justin Gaethje ‘does not have an ingrown hair,’ UFC 324 ‘cover-up’ is ‘worse than the crime’
“The Highlight” dismissed the screen shot as nothing more than an ingrown hair. But former UFC title challenger and current MMA analyst, Chael Sonnen, suggests Gaethje is “lying” about the condition ahead of the UFC 324 headliner on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas.
That said, the topic is not interesting to Sonnen and does not matter.
“Somewhere, the media picked up on this,” Sonnen said on YouTube. “Now, Justin Gaethje countered it to let you know that he doesn’t have staph, it was an in ingrown hair. I’m not a doctor. I see staph all the time. I’ve got staph on my own arm right now, but looking at a picture and trying to tell what Justin Gaethje has, I don’t know what he has. He does not have an ingrown hair. That I do know. So he is lying about something, but is that interesting? Does that matter? Not to me.”

Justin Gaethje has shut down speculation that he has a staph infection ahead of his fight with Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324.
Gaethje (26-5) and Pimblett (23-3) will contest the interim lightweight championship on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas.
Gaethje has been documenting his preparation via his YouTube channel but fears arose over marks on his neck and lip.
"It's an ingrown hair on my neck and brisket hanging out of my mouth, Nostradamus," he sarcastically replied via social media to speculation that he had a staph infection.
