Scott Robertson set to be sacked as ABs coach after damning review: Reports

All Blacks coach Scott Robertson is set to depart the role two years into the job.

The Herald understands an announcement will be made today that Robertson is finishing in his position.

It comes a day after the Herald reported a possible player revolt and a
    scathing end-of-year review.

Last December, the Herald revealed widespread internal frustrations from players and support staff following the All Blacks’ failed Grand Slam tour.

That feedback has now come through loud and clear in the All Blacks internal review, leaving New Zealand Rugby (NZR) hierarchy under serious pressure to deliver sweeping coaching changes.

The Herald understands the most critical feedback of the All Blacks coaching, culture and environment stems from senior players, with frustrations building throughout Scott Robertson’s two-year tenure.

Disposable Razor: All Blacks coach Scott Robertson expected to get the sack – reports

Scott "Razor" Robertson, only a few years ago hailed as the future of All Black rugby after taking the Crusaders to multiple Super Rugby championships, could be about to be dumped as All Black coach, according to several media.

1News is reporting NZ Rugby is expected to confirm today that Robertson will be dropped two years into his four year term.

The Irish Independent is reporting that the All Blacks will be plunged into "unprecedented turmoil" with Robertson about to depart his job.

RNZ is contacting NZ Rugby about the rumours but has yet to receive a response.

There has been mounting speculation after an internal report into the 2025 All Black games found dissatisfaction among senior players.

Leinster have emerged as a possible destination for All Blacks back-row Ardie Savea, according to a report in The New Zealand Herald.

The report reveals that multiple sources have confirmed the 108-cap All Black is “exploring discussions” to remain in Japan with his current club, the Kobelco Kobe Steelers, beyond this season.

Manchester United have sacked boss Ruben Amorim, the club have confirmed.

The announcement was made on Monday morning less than 24 hours after Amorim held a stunning news conference following the 1-1 draw with Leeds United in which he urged United bosses to "do your jobs."

Club sources have denied that the decision was prompted by a breakdown in Amorim's relationship with director of football Jason Wilcox, but rather because the hierarchy "have not seen enough signs of evolution of progress."

Amorim’s Manchester United future in balance amid Wilcox transfer tension

Ruben Amorim’s future at Manchester United is in the balance, with the head coach’s strained relationship with the director of football, Jason Wilcox, a factor in what is viewed as an unpredictable situation at the club.

Amorim believed United were prepared to back him in the January transfer window should a major signing become available but at the moment this has changed, causing him discontent. The 40-year-old is believed to have been informed of this on the authority of Wilcox, who reports to Omar Berrada, the chief executive.

Amorim took over United in November 2024. While Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who leads United’s football policy, previously stated Amorim should be given three years to prove his worth, it is understood there are now reservations within the hierarchy regarding the Portuguese.

Manchester United has sacked head coach Ruben Amorim a day after they were held to a draw by relegation-threatened Leeds United.

"With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish," the club said in a statement.

Manchester United are 17 points behind leaders Arsenal, and have won only one of their last five matches.
