    Sheffield Wednesday v Leicester City: Championship stats & head-to-head

    Relegation-threatened Leicester City scored late to rescue a draw at Sheffield Wednesday but remain a point away from Championship safety.

    Sheffield United 1-2 Wrexham: Red Dragons earn comeback win over Blades

    Sheffield United hosted Wrexham in a league fixture for the first time since October 1982

    Wrexham came from behind to earn a crucial victory over Sheffield United to maintain their push for a top six spot in the Championship.

    Having been wasteful in the first-half, the Blades went in front shortly after the restart as Andre Brooks lashed into the net from close range.

    And Sam Smith headed home the winner 12 minutes from time to ensure Phil Parkinson's men – who remain seventh – stay level on points with sixth-place Southampton.

    Sheffield United head back into action on Saturday aiming to end a three-game winless run in the Championship and break back into the top half.

    Wrexham have assembled a 'really good team' – Wilder

    Chris Wilder says Phil Parkinson has assembled a "really good team" as his Sheffield United side prepare to face Wrexham this weekend.

    The Blades currently sit 15th in the Championship, 10 points adrift of the seventh-placed Red Dragons who are only out of the play-off places on goal difference.

    Before the meeting of the sides at Bramall Lane on Saturday (15:00 GMT), Wilder was keen to praise his former Southampton academy team-mate Parkinson for the job he has done since taking charge of Wrexham in 2021.

    "No matter what goes on at Wrexham, and there's a lot of noise in terms of the progression of the football club and the story that goes behind everything, but they've still got to win games of football," Wilder said in a press conference.

    Sam Fanning fell heartbreakingly short of a maiden ton for Western Australia as Victoria captain Will Sutherland and Test paceman Scott Boland gave the visitors the advantage in the Sheffield Shield match at the WACA.

    Sutherland scored a first-class career-best 101 not out to help the Vics to 9-431, declaring immediately upon reaching his second first class ton.

    WA finished day two at the WACA on 5-200 in their first innings, with Joel Curtis unbeaten on 26 and Fanning having been dismissed in the final hour for 99.
