Films and video games have been feeding off one another for years, but rarely are the results as cerebral as Japanese director Genki Kawamura’s Exit 8.

Pop Stars on Parade in Micheal and Mother Mary

Jaafar Jackson plays the title role in the biopic Michael. The real-life son of Michael Jackson’s older brother, Jermaine, he’s a bit of a ringer for his famous uncle, and he dances with some of the same inexplicable combination of precision and loose-limbed abandon. Assuming that neither his looks nor his moves were computer-enhanced, it’s a remarkable impersonation.

But it’s not the same as the real thing. The oft-repeated point of Michael is that there was never a performer like him and never will be again, and nothing in the movie disproves this. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”) from a script by John Logan (“Gladiator”), it’s a chronicle of the King of Pop’s rise: the tiny front man of Gary, Indiana’s The Jackson Five, under the thumb of tyrannical patriarch Joe Jackson (Colman Domingo), into Berry Gordy’s stable at Motown, eventually to Quincy Jones-produced solo mega-stardom in the late ’70s and the ’80s.

Host Rodger Corser shocked by TV contestant's wild dream for $200,000 prize: 'If you want to join me, you can'

Host Rodger Corser was left shocked when a simple question turned into a surprise proposition from a contestant on The Floor.

In the opening episode of the hit gameshow's second season, 67-year-old community support worker Ciska saw an opportunity to make a dream come true, and took it.

Ahead of a duel, Rodger innocently asked Ciska what she would do if she won the show's whopping $200,000 prize.

"I would take it all out of the bank, change all the notes into the colours like the $5s, $10s, the $20s, all the pretty colours, put it all in the bath and jump in naked," Ciska said without hesitation.

Rodger Corser shocked by contestant’s wild proposition in The Floor’s $200,000 moment

rodger corser was not expecting a prize-money answer to turn into a personal invitation, but that is exactly what happened in the opening episode of The Floor’s second season. The exchange began with a simple question about a $200, 000 win and ended with a contestant turning the moment into an offbeat proposition that stunned the host, drew laughter from the floor, and instantly became one of the episode’s most memorable beats.

Host Rodger Corser asked 67-year-old community support worker Ciska what she would do if she won the show’s $200, 000 prize. Her answer was not a cautious promise or a practical plan. Instead, she described taking the money out of the bank, changing the notes into different colours, putting them in a bath, and jumping in naked. When Corser responded that he loved the dream, Ciska escalated the moment with a direct invitation: “And if you want to join me, you can. ”

New research suggests older people have more progressive views on women’s rights than younger generations. This direction of travel is deeply concerning

It is usually assumed that young people are more liberal than older generations. Not according to startling new research carried out in 29 countries, including the UK, that suggests that almost a third of gen Z men believe that a wife should always obey her husband. A similar number say a husband should have the final say on important decisions.

Although those stats are for a 29-country average, it seems to reflect worries about a masculinity crisis among young men in the UK. What century are we living in? It could be a snapshot from the 1970s, but the figures are from a survey published this week by Ipsos and the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London. But even five decades ago, men in the UK who expressed such views could expect to be laughed at. They were swimming against the tide, as legislation was passed outlawing sex discrimination and creating a (theoretical) right to equal pay.

Social media plays 'huge role' in promoting traditional gender views, say experts

Gen Z men are more likely than their Baby Boomer counterparts to believe wives should "obey" their husbands, a global study by Ipsos and King's College London suggests.

The study, which surveyed 23,000 people worldwide, shows that as many as 31% of men in their teens and twenties believed "a wife should always obey her husband", while 13% of older men aged 60 and over agreed with the same statement.

People from 29 countries took part, with the UK generally having more progressive views overall than the average of countries in the study.

In interviews with BBC News, the study's co-author says social media has played a "huge role" in changing attitudes worldwide, while a UK-based women's rights group says the statistics show we are "going in the wrong direction".
