ASEAN HYUNDAI CUP™ 2026 SEMI-FINAL 2ND LEG: THAILAND 1-2 SINGAPORE; THAILAND WIN 4-3 ON AGGREGATE

Thailand will play either Vietnam or Malaysia in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 final after Anthony Hudson’s side completed a 4-3 aggregate win over Singapore despite slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday.

Substitute Kakana Khamyok’s 61st-minute penalty, which came between a 45th-minute strike from Harhys Stewart and an own goal 20 minutes later by Pansa Hemviboon, was enough to ensure Thailand’s progress after their 3-1 first-leg win in Singapore at the weekend.

Thailand, seven-times ASEAN champions, will host the first leg of the final in Bangkok on Saturday and will face either defending champions Vietnam or Malaysia, who meet in the second leg of their semi-final in Hanoi on Wednesday with the Vietnamese holding a 2-0 lead.

15-Hour Flights: Singapore Airlines' 9 New Longest Nonstop Airbus A380 Routes [Map]

Singapore Airlines is one of the largest all-time operators of the Airbus A380, with present fleet data made available by ch-aviation showing that the carrier has flown 24 examples of the double-decker quadjet over the years. Today, its fleet size for the superjumbo is a more modest 12, with these behemoths clocking in at an average age of 12.5 years (vs. nine years for the airline's overall fleet).

Recent changes to the carrier's A380 schedules between August and March 2027, as shown by current route data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, mean there are new rankings for its longest superjumbo routes. In this article, we will examine the destinations of the routes in question, their maximum block times, and the frequencies during this period.

Singapore Airlines adds nine new A380 routes

Singapore Airlines will deploy its Airbus A380s on nine new long-haul routes between August 2026 and March 2027. London Heathrow tops the list with 14h40m flights. Frankfurt, Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne also feature, with seasonal adjustments and varying frequencies.

Between August 2026 and March 2027, Singapore Airlines will operate A380s on routes including London Heathrow (twice daily, 14h40m), Frankfurt (seasonal, 13h05m), and Auckland (daily from October, 10h50m). Sydney and Melbourne flights run daily or twice daily, while Dubai service is limited to four flights starting late March. Shorter routes to Delhi, Mumbai, and Shanghai each take 5h50m.

Singapore Airlines Confirms Airbus A380 Flights On This Major New Route [Map]

Due to the ongoing war in Iran, Singapore Airlines has regularly changed the planned launch date of Airbus A380 flights from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) to Dubai International Airport (DXB). While subject to change, the latest schedule sees the type from the end of next March (if it happens).

This development comes amid other superjumbo changes to and from SIN. For example, while Emirates previously planned three daily double-decker services to SIN, the carrier will only have one daily operation in September, before increasing again. Etihad Airways is due to resume superjumbo flights to Lion City in October, while Qatar Airways last flew the A380 there in March 2026.

Singapore Airlines Adds Airbus A380 Flights On This Major Route [Map]

Singapore Airlines has indicated it will be increasing its Airbus A380 services to the Australasia region this winter, as the aircraft type is set to return to Auckland, New Zealand, later this year. The airline last operated on this route from January to March this year, but Auckland has seen the carrier's A380 for over a decade (albeit with a few gaps in between).

The airline's plans to return the A380 to Auckland come shortly after the carrier announced it will also be resuming A380 services to Melbourne, Australia. Data from Cirium, a data analytics company, indicates that the airline will have 29% more A380 operations this winter, compared to winter 2025.

Breaking Airline News: Singapore Airlines Deploys Massive A380 Fleet to Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne to Combat Surging Travel Chaos in Winter 2026

Breaking airline news: Amidst a terrifying era of sudden passenger surges and operational strain, Singapore Airlines aggressively deploys its massive A380 superjumbos to defend the Australasian corridor against severe travel chaos.

Image representing the intense strategic battle as global aviation leaders aggressively deploy massive A380 superjumbos to combat severe passenger congestion and mitigate systemic travel chaos.

As paralyzing airport disruptions, heavily constrained seating capacities, and massive waves of passenger congestion violently threaten the highly lucrative Asia-Pacific aviation network, a premier global carrier has launched an aggressive strategic defense. In a desperate bid to prevent catastrophic logistical gridlock during the upcoming IATA Winter 2026 schedule, Singapore Airlines is executing a massive redeployment of its Airbus A380 operations. Beginning October 25, 2025, the airline will inject tremendous wide-body capacity directly into Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), heavily reinforcing essential, high-volume routes to Auckland Airport (AKL), Sydney Airport (SYD), and Melbourne Airport (MEL) to actively combat severe regional travel chaos.

Singapore to Medan Skies in 2026: Is Scoot’s New Daily Flight About to Outshine Batik Air Indonesia

Scoot and Batik Air Indonesia are being positioned as the two most relevant choices for travellers planning non stop journeys between Singapore Changi Airport and Medan Kualanamu International Airport in early 2026. As this city pair continues to grow in importance for both business and leisure traffic, a detailed understanding of how these two carriers differ is proving crucial for passengers who wish to optimise comfort, cost, and connectivity.

As of February 2026, three airlines are operating non stop flights between Singapore Changi Airport and Medan Kualanamu International Airport. These airlines are Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and Batik Air Indonesia. Among them, Scoot and Batik Air Indonesia are being seen as the most directly comparable options for budget conscious and mid range travellers on this corridor. Scoot has launched a new daily service on 1 February 2026 as part of the Singapore Airlines Group expansion strategy in Southeast Asia, while Batik Air Indonesia, a subsidiary of the Lion Air Group, has already been operating daily flights on this route for some time.

Scoot Launching New Flights from Singapore to Best Big City in the World

SINGAPORE- Scoot (TR) has launched direct flights between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND), entering one of Asia’s most competitive long-haul leisure and business routes. The service places the low-cost carrier alongside All Nippon Airways (NH), Japan Airlines (JL), and parent Singapore Airlines (SQ) at Haneda.

The move expands Scoot’s Japan network to 45 weekly flights and increases overlap within the Singapore Airlines Group portfolio, as both Scoot (TR) and Singapore Airlines (SQ) operate between Singapore (SIN) and Tokyo (HND).

Scoot’s new Haneda service began operations on Sunday, marking a strategic shift for the budget airline. Haneda Airport (HND), located closer to central Tokyo than Narita International Airport (NRT), offers shorter ground transfer times and stronger domestic connectivity.
