‘Shock to the system’: Anasta speaks on potential Munster exit

Talks between the PNG Chiefs and Cameron Munster may have been approved by Melbourne, but the playmaker’s manager, Braith Anasta, claims that does not mean he will be leaving the Storm.

Anasta confirmed permission had been granted for his client to speak with PNG when speaking to Triple M Breakfast on Friday, with the Storm agreeing to the gesture out of respect for the champion.

Munster doesn’t come off-contract until the end of next season, which means he was set to become a free agent from November 1.

The Storm acknowledged in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald on Thursday that if PNG were to table an offer that they couldn’t compete with, the club “wouldn’t begrudge” Munster for taking it up.

‘Speaks for itself’: Luai move confirmed after fiery Benji presser

Benji Marshall has fired back at the “made up” rumours surrounding Jarome Luai after the decision from Wests Tigers officials to let the co-captain leave and sign with rivals Parramatta for the 2027 season.

Luai is in the second season in what was originally a five-year contract, but earlier this year signed with the PNG Chiefs for their inaugural 2028 campaign.

It was originally expected that Luai would remain at Concord next year, but the Tigers have since released the five-eighth for 2027 and he is now set to join the Eels on a stop-gap deal, as confirmed by the club on Tuesday evening.

Jarome Luai to Join Parramatta Eels in 2027

The Parramatta Eels are delighted to announce that four-time NRL premiership-winning half Jarome Luai will join the Club for the 2027 NRL season.

One of the game's most accomplished playmakers, Luai brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Eels after establishing himself as one of the competition's premier halves.

Luai has enjoyed success at the highest level throughout his career and has also represented New South Wales in State of Origin, and Samoa on the international stage. His competitive nature, football intelligence and ability to perform under pressure make him a significant addition to Parramatta's roster next year.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O'Neill said Luai's arrival would provide an enormous boost to the Club both on and off the field.

Rebecca Gibney shares candid update after taking break from social media after health diagnosis

Packed to the Rafters star Rebecca Gibney has shared a candid life update after announcing in April that she was taking a social media break.

The Kiwi-Australian actress, 61, shared a lengthy post on social media on Tuesday evening, revealing she's been dealing with "some stuff going on," including her mother Shirley being hospitalised and her pet pooch Lolly struggling with ''health issues''.

It comes after the Halifax f.p. star revealed she was taking a break from social media after copping "backlash" after revealing her her Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis.

Gibney has been on social media since, but this is one of her first in-depth and candid updates.

Now, in a new update, Rebecca has shared there has been some “‘stuff’ going on” behind the scenes as she has taken time away from the spotlight, including the hospitalisation of her beloved mother.

Harrison Petty speaks for first time about 'confusing' MCG health scare

Harrison Petty speaks for the first time about his frightening medical episode at the MCG

HARRISON Petty didn't know what was wrong. One moment he felt completely fine about to take his kick on the last line of defence. Then the MCG was spinning around him. The ball sprayed off the side of his boot, gifting Will Ashcroft a goal. Suddenly, the Narrm key defender was down on one knee.

Ed Langdon, Xavier Taylor and Blake Howes quickly came to his aid, before Demons doctor Jacob Jewson helped him walk off the ground slowly with physio Zach Nelson. Petty's day was over just before three-quarter time in round six, but the issue wasn't clear. And in the days afterwards, it was unclear when he would return.

Fixture reveal: How Spud’s Game could be impetus for more Sunday night footy

St Kilda’s special “Spud’s Game” against Carlton is being used as a trial by the AFL for more Sunday night football, as the league explores non-traditional time slots for games.

Head office has a major supporter for Sunday night football in broadcast partner Seven, which, enthused by the growth in year-on-year ratings, is keen to see more games in the time slot.

The league generally avoids scheduling matches on Sunday nights unless it falls on the eve of a public holiday but made an exception for the round 22 game between the Saints and the Blues in the latest release of the fixture on Thursday.

Sydney Swans set for prime-time action in the run home

The AFL has today announced the remaining time slots for Rounds 16-22.

The ladder-leading Sydney Swans have welcomed a swathe of prime-time matches to close out the home-and-away season, after the AFL today announced the time slots for Rounds 16-22.

The Swans will feature under lights on a Thursday or Friday night on four occasions during that period.

After a season of record crowds at the SCG so far, the remaining rounds are headlined by a Friday night home blockbuster against the Western Bulldogs in Round 17, with the match to become the club’s 2026 Pride Game. Since 2016, Sydney has been proud to host Pride Game at the SCG, celebrating inclusivity with the LGBTIQA+ community.

Boy George might not have made it through to the Eurovision final with San Marino, but still had a “fabulous” time making his somewhat surreal appearance on one of the world’s biggest stages.

The Culture Club star joined the country’s 2026 entry SENHIT onstage in Vienna, Austria, during the first semi-final, where they performed her song “Superstar” together.

Shock as Boy George eliminated from Eurovision just shy of finals

Star singer and surprise Eurovision hopeful Boy George has been eliminated from the titular song writing contest.

Appearing alongside fellow San Marino representative Senhit, the '80s music icon and the Italian-born singer performed the song they co-wrote to raucous reception.

Donning a variation of his signature oversized hat and emerging on a glittering throne – the theatrics were sadly not enough to secure the necessary votes for the pair to progress.

Though they failed to secure the tiny nation a place in Saturday's showpiece, George met the disappointing news with a smile and a wave.

Senhit, 46, was just as gracious in defeat after what was her fourth failed Eurovision title attempt.

Who is Boy George representing in Eurovision 2026?

The Eurovision Song Contest is known for pulling out all the stops with its surprises each year, and it came as quite the shock to UK fans when it was revealed Boy George had a link to this year's competition – but for a different nation.

Ever since it was revealed that Boy George had an uncredited role in San Marino's entry song Superstar, speculation has been rife as to whether he would represent San Marino and perform during the competition.

San Marino has been represented at Eurovision 15 times, but has never quite found the recipe for success. The nation is being represented by SENHIT, who has previously taken part in Eurovision three times but has never quite reached heights on the leaderboard.

Washington: Katherine Keating, daughter of former prime minister Paul Keating, has spoken out about her “unfortunate” friendship with Jeffrey Epstein after a long trail of emails between her and the convicted sex offender featured in the latest release of documents by the US Department of Justice.

The documents show how Keating maintained a social relationship with Epstein for several years in the early 2010s, regularly arranging to visit his New York mansion and seeking his career advice as she tried to build a career in the American television industry.

Katherine Keating tapped for Andrew image rehab, Epstein files show

Washington | Katherine Keating, the daughter of former prime minister Paul Keating, appears to have been enlisted to paint former British royal Andrew Mountbatten in a positive light to a journalist, according to newly released files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Hundreds of emails between Keating and Epstein, or his assistants, released on Friday (Saturday AEDT), shed new light on the pair’s friendship and suggest they socialised regularly between 2010 and 2013. In that period, the late disgraced financier had already served 13 months in prison after being convicted of child sex charges in 2008.
