The first trailer for the Anthony Bourdain biopic, Tony, has been released giving us a sweary look at the late food icon’s younger years.

Dominic Sessa, The Holdovers breakout, plays 19-year-old Bourdain as he gets his first job in a kitchen in mid-70s Cape Cod.

“I’m actually not a fucking cook, I’m a writer,” the character says as he struggles to find his place in the world of food. The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Emilia Jones and Leo Woodall.

Emilia Jones, Leo Woodall and Antonio Banderas also star in director Matt Johnson's feature that centers on the late kitchen personality landing a pivotal restaurant job at age 19.

Dominic Sessa turns up the heat as Anthony Bourdain in the trailer for the forthcoming feature Tony.

A24 releases filmmaker Matt Johnson‘s movie in theaters this August. Sessa (The Holdovers) portrays a 19-year-old Bourdain in the film that also stars Emilia Jones, Leo Woodall, Antonio Banderas, Dagmara Dominczyk, Rich Sommers and Stavros Halkias.

Focusing on a period of Bourdain’s life that predates his fame as a celebrity chef and acclaimed author, Tony centers on the titular character (Sessa) as he takes a job at a restaurant on Cape Cod and experiences a transformative summer.

This morning, A24 woke up and said, “It’s not enough for us to buy the Cherry Lane Theatre; we need to reclaim Tony nominations day.” This is the kind of greed they warn against in the Bible. Regardless, this is (probably) the only year the studio will have a movie called Tony, so why not just release its first trailer the same day as the Tony nominations and make everything a real Tonypalooza? There are worse fates. What’s most fun here is that the Tony trailer actually introduces a third Tony: Antonio Banderas, who is tapping into that salt-and-pepper-haired, soft-spoken, wise but fallible older character he once so elegantly played in Pain and Glory.
