Matt Renshaw's dream Test has continued at Kingsmead, with the Queenslander picking up his maiden Test wicket after peeling off 82 earlier on day four.
Renshaw had South Africa captain Temba Bavuma (1) caught at short leg as shadows lengthened in Durban, before Pat Cummins nicked off Tristan Stubbs (1) to reduce the hosts to 4-102 at stumps.
South Africa will require another 319 runs for an unlikely triumph, with Cummins having earlier set the hosts a target of 421 by declaring at 6-314 on the stroke of tea.
