‘Would have to be talked out of it’: Shock claim Bombers boss has already ‘endorsed’ next coach
Essendon president Andrew Welsh is “endorsing” former board member and now interim boss Dean Solomon as the next full-time Bombers coach, according to a report.
Code Sports’ Scott Gullan reported Welsh wants his former teammate and close friend Solomon to take the job, writing that “at this stage it’s believed Welsh would have to be talked out of giving it to Solomon”.

James Hird has met with his old mentor Kevin Sheedy and former Essendon president Paul Little as he plots his pursuit of the vacant Essendon coaching job.
Hird last month publicly declared his interest in returning to the Bombers as senior coach, having led the club through its infamous drugs saga in the early 2010s.
