The undefeated Penrith Panthers have produced another supreme display to down Melbourne 50-10 at Western Sydney Stadium.
Thomas Jenkins scored his fifth double of the new season as the Storm conceded a half century of points for the first time since 2003 in what was their biggest defeat since the 2008 grand final.
"Definitely shocked at the score line," Ivan Cleary said in his press conference.
In one of the most complete displays in recent NRL history, the Panthers scored nine tries to two, with eight different try scorers as the Panthers laid down a marker to the rest of the competition, saying they are favourite to regain the premiership in October.
The Penrith Panthers cemented themselves in the history books with a dominant 50-10 victory over the Storm, breaking multiple records in the process.
The win saw the Panthers become the first team in history to open a season with five straight victories by 20 points or more, while also recording their biggest ever win over Melbourne. Thomas Jenkins continued his remarkable run, becoming the first player in history to score 12 tries in the opening five rounds of a premiership season.
The Panthers produced a clinical attacking display, piling on nine tries in a well-rounded performance. Liam Martin and Freddy Lussick set the tone early before Jenkins crossed for a double, with further tries to Nathan Cleary, Casey McLean, Brian To’o, Luke Garner and Dylan Edwards sealing the result.

The Penrith Panthers and Thomas Jenkins have shattered NRL records in a 50-10 flogging of Melbourne at CommBank Stadium.
Melbourne came into the match in unfamiliar territory having lost two in a row and that turned to three in an emphatic result.
Penrith's victory means they're the first team in premiership history to win their first five matches by 20 or more points. It was also the first time the Panthers have scored 50 against Melbourne and it was their biggest win against the side.
