ATP Geneva Best Bets Including Alexander Bublik vs Learner Tien

The ATP Geneva semifinals on May 22 feature two players in strong form aiming to carry momentum into the final. Casper Ruud has looked dominant throughout the week without dropping a set. He appears well-positioned against Mariano Navone, while Alexander Bublik could benefit from the quicker conditions in Geneva as he looks to avenge his recent loss to Learner Tien and use his powerful serve to control the matchup.

Casper Ruud has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Rome, Ruud lost to Sinner in the final in straight sets. He is the sixth seed this week in Geneva. In the opening round, the Norwegian defeated Brooksby in straight sets. Ruud trailed 3-5 in the opening set against Collignon and even saved one set point, but turned it around and won in straight sets. In the quarterfinals, Ruud defeated Popyrin in straight sets, without offering any breakpoints.

Schrödinger’s clock: Time could tick faster and slower at the same time

Few concepts in physics are as familiar, or as puzzling, as time itself. Einstein's theory of relativity showed that time is not fixed or universal. Instead, it changes depending on speed and gravity. When scientists combine relativity with quantum mechanics, however, the picture becomes even stranger. Quantum theory suggests that time itself could exist in a superposition, meaning it may flow both faster and slower simultaneously.

A newly published study suggests researchers may soon be able to test this bizarre idea in the lab. The paper, titled "Quantum signatures of proper time in optical ion clocks," appeared April 20, 2026 in Physical Review Letters. The research was led by Assistant Professor Igor Pikovski of Stevens Institute of Technology, working with experimental teams led by Christian Sanner at Colorado State University and Dietrich Leibfried at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

The most accurate atomic clocks in operation now lose less than one second every 30 billion years — and the reason this matters isn't precision for its own sake, it's that gravity itself slows time slightly, and these clocks are now sensitive enough to measure the

There is a particular fact about the most precise atomic clocks currently in operation that the wider cultural register has, on the available evidence, not yet adequately absorbed.

There is a particular fact about the most precise atomic clocks currently in operation that the wider cultural register has, on the available evidence, not yet adequately absorbed. The fact is that these clocks are now sensitive enough that they can directly measure the difference in the rate at which time passes between two positions in the same room that are separated by, in the most recent demonstrations, approximately one millimeter of vertical distance.

"Different Flows of Time All Exist at the Same Moment": Scientists Claim Trapped-Ion Atomic Clocks Can Observe “Quantum Superposition of Time”

An international team of researchers has demonstrated a theoretical framework showing that state-of-the-art trapped-ion atomic clocks could be tuned to a sensitivity precise enough to measure the quantum superposition of time, in which different flows of time exist simultaneously at the quantum level.

The researchers behind the framework said the next step will be to prove their concept experimentally. If successful, they suggest that trapped-ion atomic clocks could potentially help unravel physics’ other fundamental question: the elusive nature of gravity.

In the macro world, time moves in one direction. Although famed 20th-century scientist Albert Einstein showed that gravity and speed can alter the rate at which time flows, his theory of relativity conceded that time at the macro scale inexorably flows in a forward direction.

A Launceston couple is $2.5 million richer, and a 17-year wait is over.

The shocked husband and wife were out driving on Sunday morning when they received a call from The Lott.

"No, this is a joke. This is really a joke. It can't be true. You have no idea what this means," the wife said.

"We might just go look for our first home. We've always talked about it. We won't be renting anymore," the man said.

"I might go buy a bottle of champagne this afternoon to celebrate!"

The winning ticket, a 12-game QuickPick, was bought at Prospect Marketplace News, was one of eight winners to share in a $20 million pool.

‘Outlander’ Season 8, Episode 9 Release Time: Here’s When This Week’s Episode Drops On Starz

The end is nigh. Two long-running shows on my current rotation are heading toward their final two episodes. On Prime Video, The Boys will drop its penultimate episode next week. On Starz, the second-to-last episode of Outlander lands this week.

The adventures of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) draw to a close in just over a week’s time. I’m tempted to start from the beginning once it’s all over, but I think I’ll pick up the books by Diana Gabaldon instead. As much as I’ve enjoyed this epic TV series, it’s time to go back to the source.

Outlander endgame: All the storylines we still need to see resolved

This week’s pause in the schedule has given us a rare chance to sit with everything Outlander has set in motion in season 8 and to realize just how much still needs to be resolved. With only two episodes left, the series is staring down a long list of unfinished arcs. If it wants to avoid the “season 8 curse” (yes, Game of Thrones, we’re looking at you), it has serious narrative ground to cover.

Here are the storylines we’re hoping to see play out by the series finale.

At the core, only three major book plot lines remain: the Battle of King’s Mountain, Lord John’s abduction and subsequent rescue, and William’s evolving relationship with Jamie — the latter of which finally began to shift in Episode 8. But the show has added other major changes to the story that are now begging to be resolved.

'Outlander': The Frasers Search for Lord John Grey in Penultimate Photos

The end is truly near for Outlander as the penultimate episode, “Pharos,” approaches, serving as the lead-in to Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) send-off.

As viewers will recall, in the previous episode, “In the Forest,” the final moments revealed the kidnapping of Lord John Grey (David Berry), and as the upcoming installment’s logline teases, political threats come to a head when an old friend of Claire and Jamie’s goes missing. In other words, fans need to prepare for a rescue mission if the newly released images for the hour-long story are any indication.

The all-new photos tease some major team-ups, gun-wielding, and impending doom, with William (Charles Vandervaart) collaborating with Jamie and Claire to rescue his adoptive father, as Claire gets feisty with her weaponry. And as Benjamin Cleveland (Turlough Convery) converges on Fraser’s Ridge, the impending battle of King’s Mountain puts everyone on edge. Meanwhile, William also reunites with Amaranthus (Carla Woodcock) in the latest look at what’s to come.

Wharfie time! AFL’s bizarre move hints at title favourites

Andrew Dillon’s team is getting ready to use Matthew Pavlich’s famous words against him at Sydney.

To steal a phrase from Fremantle Football Club’s rival West Coast’s theme song, the Dockers are flying high. Seven on the trot, second on the AFL ladder, and a line-up dominating across the ground – could this finally be its premiership year?

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon and his troops at AFL House seem to think so. The league is trying to trademark “WHARFIE TIME”, no doubt thinking ahead to the lucrative merchandise and marketing potential of the Dockers’ inaugural flag.

A good omen? AFL eyes ‘Wharfie Time’ trademark as Freo push through sickness to climb ladder

The AFL seemingly has high hopes for the Fremantle Dockers this season, with the league applying to trademark a phrase associated with high-pressure moments at the club’s home games.

Documents filed with IP Australia, the government agency responsible for administering intellectual property, reveal the AFL applied to trademark the phrase “Wharfie Time” last month.

The application is still being considered as part of the examination process, with a report expected in early July.

The phrase was coined by former captain Matthew Pavlich in 2009, who famously told teammates to “put on your Superman capes, it’s wharfie time”.

The club has embraced the unofficial motto and often uses it to signify a tight contest, with the words emblazoning the screens at Optus Stadium to incite the crowd to cheer louder and urge the Dockers to victory.

The Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks this week, but will you be able to see it?

The Eta Aquariid meteor shower peaks tonight. Here’s how to watch it

Early birds are in for a celestial treat this week as activity from the Eta Aquariid meteor shower heats up — but they’ll need to keep sharp eyes on the sky.

The shower will peak between Tuesday and Wednesday, with prime views before daybreak on Wednesday, according to the American Meteor Society.

“The only opportunity to see these meteors is during the last few hours before dawn,” said Robert Lunsford, fireball report coordinator with the American Meteor Society.

This brief window is due to the fact that Aquarius, the constellation from which the meteors radiate, will not be visible until about 3 a.m. for much of the globe.

Look Up! The Halley's Comet Meteor Shower Is Just About to Peak

As the Northern Hemisphere progresses through the balmy days of Spring, it's a perfect time to get outside and enjoy one of the best meteor showers our sky has to offer.

Our planet is currently passing through debris left by the passage of Halley's Comet around the Sun, an annual event known as the Eta Aquariids – and the shower of comet dust burning through our atmosphere peaks around May 4 to 6.

The best time to view the shower, according to the American Meteor Society, is around 4 am local time on the morning of 5 May 2026, when the radiant is highest in the sky.

'Wasting his time': Wayne Bennett's advice to Benji Marshall amid questions over sin bin

Benji Marshall is "wasting his time" calling for consistency from NRL referees according to veteran coach Wayne Bennett.

Following the Tigers' 33-14 win over Canberra on Thursday, Marshall called out "inconsistency" in the refereeing this season after Api Koroisau was cited for a hip drop tackle on Noah Martin, which led to a three-match suspension.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Bennett said the sin bin is "overused" while passing on some advice for the Tigers coach.

"I just realised what a hip drop is the other day, to be honest with you. Benji is a young coach so if he's a bit confused about the rules, wait until he gets another 10 years into the job," Bennett said.

Koroisau faces lengthy ban for hip-drop tackle in win over Raiders

Api Koroisau is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines after being charged with a grade two dangerous contact charge.

The Wests Tigers skipper was placed on report and sin-binned for a hip-drop tackle on Canberra back-rower Noah Martin during Thursday night’s 33-14 triumph at Leichhardt Oval.

Koroisau was then penalised and put on report a second time for a lifting tackle on Morgan Smithies in the 53rd minute.

Tigers coach Benji Marshall argued Koroisau had nowhere else to go when completing the tackle on Martin, and when it came to the lifting tackle on Smithies, said: “If it was up to me, I probably would have challenged it [the penalty]. I didn’t think it was that bad.”

Today, Zverev continued his Munich mastery thrashing Gabriel Diallo 6-1, 6-2 to charge into the BMW Open quarterfinals for the eighth time in 12 appearances.

“I think he had some issues with the back and was not serving fully in the second set,” Zverev said in his on-court interview. “But I am happy with the win and happy to get an easier match today.”

Zverev joins compatriot Philipp Kohlschreiber (10) as the second German man to reach eight or more Munich quarterfinals.

The serve was the key stroke today. Zverev served 75 percent, won 25 of 30 first-serve points and saved the only break point he faced defeating Diallo for the second time this season following his four-set win in the Australian Open first round.

‘It was a weird, weird time’: How a ‘loudmouth larrikin’ won Australian Survivor

After 45 days in the Samoan jungle, a brutal four-hour and seven-minute endurance challenge, and a shock Tribal Council backstab, Caleb Beeby was voted winner of Australian Survivor: Redemption. The 29-year-old truck driver from South Gippsland in Victoria tells national TV editor Louise Rugendyke about his beef with fellow contestant Jackson Goonrey, the maggots in camp, and how he’s spending his $500,000 prize money.

Congratulations Caleb! How did it feel to finally hear host David Genat read out your name in the live finale?

Look, it was a sigh of relief to get some closure. At that point, I had waited for six months for an answer [filming in Samoa finished in September last year], and I was at the point where I was ready to get told yes or no. Obviously, everybody wants yes, but being in this suspended animation of not knowing or not trusting what you’ve been told is so hard.

Australian Survivor cast shocked by finale twist

This year’s Australian Survivor players were shocked when host David Genat dropped a bombshell following the final Tribal Council in Samoa.

“We didn’t tell the players that there was going to be a live audience finale back in Sydney,” 10 / Paramount executive producer Ciaran Flannery tells TV Tonight.

“We’ve not done a live audience finale since 2020 when covid to put an end to that. That was six years ago, so none of them would have been expecting it.

“The two final players made their pitches. Everyone got up, went and voted, came and sat back down again. David grabbed the urn, brought it back to read the votes, and said, ‘I’ll read the votes back in Sydney,’ and then just turns around and walks out.
