Sunday session: Eels v Titans; Wests Tigers v Knights

We bring down the curtain on another intriguing round of footy with the injury-hit Eels trying to bounce back from their Easter Monday heartbreak before the Knights and Wests Tigers square off in a battle of two red-hot sides on the rise.

Few could have predicted at the start of the season that the teams that finished last year 13th and 17th would be sitting pretty in the top four after five rounds and dreaming big.

A sensational atmosphere is guaranteed at Campbelltown as Wests Tigers chase another win in front of their loyal fans who are loving the ride in 2026 as Benji's boys crank up the attack but also show some real steel in defence.

Late Mail: NRL Round 6 v Newcastle Knights

The Wests Tigers have confirmed their final squad ahead of their clash with the Newcastle Knights at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Coming off the back of an Easter Monday classic, the boys in orange, black and white will look to secure their fourth win in their opening five games, on Sunday, 12 April, 4:05pm at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Due to hamstring tightness, Tino Tavana has been omitted from the squad. This has caused a shuffle in the back line, with Patrick Herbert making his Wests Tigers debut at centre.

Tony Sukkar has moved from the reserves to the interchange bench.

Hands up who thought the Wests Tigers or Newcastle Knights would be sitting in equal first place on the NRL ladder at the end of six rounds.

That is the remarkable scenario that awaits the winner of Sunday’s clash at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

The Tigers and Knights are far more used to scrapping for the wooden spoon, having collected seven between them in the past 11 years. Their clash in round one last year at the same south-western Sydney venue was so bad that the only winner was the AFL.

Cowboys v Titans: Cotter provides big boost; Campbell in the mix

The Cowboys and Titans are both chasing their first win of the season when they face off in a Queensland derby in the final game of Multicultural Round on Sunday evening.

Gold Coast looked destined to defeat the Dolphins last weekend before a late surge consigned Josh Hannay's side to a second-straight loss to start the year.

There were plenty of promising signs, however, and a young backline continues to develop.

The Cowboys also showed glimpses of brilliance in a loss to the Wests Tigers and return home for their first game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium this year following trips to Las Vegas and Leichhardt.

Updated Cowboys NRL team list: Round 3 v Titans

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten has reduced his squad to 20 ahead of Sunday's Home Opener against the Gold Coast Titans.

Harrison Edwards and Ethan King are the two players to drop out of the 22-man squad named on Tuesday.

North Queensland Cowboys respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
