Drinkwater to depart Cowboys
The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to release Scott Drinkwater from the final season of his contract, with the fullback to depart the club following the 2026 season.
Drinkwater has appeared in 151 games for the Cowboys since joining the club in mid-2019, scoring 57 tries.
He claimed both the Paul Bowman Medal, for the club’s player of the year, and Players’ Player in 2023.
His 151 games rank 18th on the club’s all-time appearance list.
“Scott has been not just a valued member of our club, but a wonderful member of the North Queensland community since he arrived eight years ago,” Cowboys Football Club CEO Micheal Luck said.
