Vietnam 0-2 China Live Score, AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Semi-Final: Xiang Yuwang Doubles CHN’s Lead After Defensive Lapse

Vietnam throw numbers forward despite being a man down, but the risks show at the back. China find space again and again, yet waste chances to seal the contest.

Vietnam breathe a huge sigh of relief. Peng Xiao’s deflected effort sneaks into the net from a free kick, but VAR intervenes and rules it out for offside, keeping China at bay.

Vietnam go all in. Kim Sang-sik throws on a fourth forward, loading the attack as the hosts abandon caution and chase a dramatic comeback.

Vietnam’s defence backs off, Xiang Yuwang is given space at the edge of the box, and he curls a fine shot into the far corner to make it 2–0.

Yaya Dukuly and Matthias Macallister scored in stoppage time as Australia lifted themselves from potential elimination to Group D winners in the space of an exhilarating four minutes.

Head Coach Tony Vidmar made three changes from the side that was narrowly defeated by China. Giuseppe Bovalina, Luka Jovanovic and Jaylan Pearman came into the starting eleven, replacing Aydan Hammond, Mathias Macallister and Nathaniel Blair.

The first half was spent in somewhat of a holding pattern, with both teams getting a feel for each other and the game.

Australia had consecutive chances at the midway point of the first half. Yaya Dukuly was ruled narrowly offside after being played through on goal, before a shot from James Overy minutes later resulted in a corner. However, that would be the Olyroos' only sight on goal for the first stanza.
